In 2011, illPhate left California to return to the midwest after serving 4 years in the USMC, deploying twice both Iraq and Afghanistan. A real life warrior. P has always had a love for hip hop but never took it farther than party freestyles...until his brother in law, Bitter Stephens, decided to sink some time and effort into helping the young emcee hone his abilities.
