There is a lot of scary s**t in our universe but I think Phenix a might be the scariest .
It's the largest black hole in our universe and lives in a galaxy 8.5 billion light years away and no matter how big you think it is , I promise you it's bigger .
To give some context , our Sun is 1.4 million km across and it would take 1.3 million Earths to fill it up . The Phenix a black hole is 100 billion times larger than our Sun with a diameter of 590.5 billion kilometers . This thing is bigger than some entire galaxies and it is 100 times larger than the distance between our Sun and Pluto.
If you were moving at the speed of light it would take you 71 days to travel its circumference but we are not done because this supermassive black hole that is almost as old as the universe itself is consuming so much material around it that it's growing by the equivalent of 60 of our suns every year.
