Hello, !

We have a bit of unfortunate news: due to a number of factors, we have decided to delay the release of Issue No. 05…briefly!

We had planned to release the issue on February 26, but all kinds of life got in the way. While we could have rushed the process to publish on time, we just didn’t want to share this fantastic issue before it’s truly ready for prime time.

We don’t have a new release date just yet, but it will almost certainly come out in mid- to late-March. And, of course, we’ll be sure to share that date as soon as it’s set.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. It really means so much to all of us.

Warm regards,
Chad (EIC)

In the ‘The Girls’ from Arboreal’s ‘Fresh Hell’ issue, National Endowment for the Arts fellow Emma Bolden asserts the gravity of resilience and sharp readiness.

The poem speaks to the power of naming and claiming one’s space in a world that often feels like a fresh hell. A testament to the strength found in unity and the fierceness of womanhood, it reflects not just a moment but a movement.

Let’s keep watching, together, until sunrise.

Let's take a look back at one of our favorite from our inaugural issue:

'Interim Assistive Care' by (now Senior Editor at Arboreal!) addresses the complexities of familial duty, juxtaposing youthful rebellion with the tender, often stark realities of caring for an aging loved one.

The invites us into intimate moments filled with stark contrasts — the weight of legacy against the levity of a informal note, the mechanical hum of an oxygen machine against the organic rhythm of Jeopardy.

It's a poignant reflection on the cycles of care and the universal dance of life and decay.
