Traffic Cabinet Repairs on Overland Trail and West Garriott prompts 4-Way Stop

WHEN: Tuesday, June 11th between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Intersection of West Owen K. Garriott Road and Overland Trail

DETAILS: City of Enid officials announced that traffic crews will be repairing the traffic control cabinet at the intersection of West Owen K Garriott Road and Overland Trail.

This effort will prompt several brief periods for the intersection to operate as a 4-way stop, with stop signs in place for all four directions between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction.

Road Closure on 4502 West Randolph Avenue for Concrete Repairs

WHEN: Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14

WHERE: 4502 West Randolph Avenue

WHY: Storm water project improvements

DETAILS: City of Enid Engineering Department announced there will be a road closure on a portion of West Randolph Avenue between Deer Run and Rosanne Street allowing contractors to replace a stormwater drain under the road and complete concrete panel repairs.

As always, this closure will be contingent on weather.

Motorist are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction.

Planned Water Outage on Randolph and Cleveland

WHEN: Friday, June 7th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: West Birch Avenue between North Washington Street and North Monroe Street

DETAILS: City of Enid officials announced there will be a planned water outage to repair a main valve that is leaking affecting the following areas:

• West Randolph from Wilson Street to North Cleveland
• South Cleveland from West Maine Street to North McKinley Street

Services are expected to be restored by the end of the day.

WHEN: Saturday, June 8th to Sunday, June 9th

WHERE: West Birch Avenue between North Washington Street and North Monroe Street

DETAILS: City of Enid Street officials announce a road closure on West Birch Avenue from North Washington Street to North Monroe Street for asphalt overlay.

During this construction effort, residents are requested to find alternative parking, as there will be no access to residential driveways.

As always, this closure will be contingent on weather.

Enid Municipal Court Closed for Annual Staff Training

WHY: Annual Staff Training

WHEN: Wednesday, June 5 to Friday, June 7

DETAILS: The Enid Municipal Court and the Court Clerk’s Office will be closed for annual staff training from Wednesday, June 5 to Friday, June 7.

Regular business hours for the Court Clerk’s office will resume at 8 a.m. and regular court will resume at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10.

The public is encouraged to make payments online at Enid.org/fines

Champlin Pool has had to close the large portion of the pool for the remainder of the day for maintenance reasons.
The small portion of the pool will remain open.
Champlin Pool plans to reopen the large pool tomorrow.

Memorial Day Closings and Schedules

WHAT: Trash Schedule and Closings for Memorial Day

WHEN: Monday, May 27

DETAILS: In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the City of Enid Administration offices, Enid Animal Welfare, and Enid Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 27.

Additionally, the Enid Public Transportation Authority (EPTA) will not be operating and the Recycle Center will be closed on Monday, May 27.

The landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Meadowlake Golf Course will open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

NOTE: All trash routes will remain the same for the holiday. There will be no changes to trash schedules.

Movie at Champlin Pool

WHEN: Saturday, June 1st

WHERE: Champlin Pool 400 West Cherokee Avenue, Enid, OK 73701

DETAILS: The City of Enid Parks and Recreation department will host a Movie at Champlin Pool: “Aquaman,” on Saturday, June 1st beginning at 9 p.m. at Champlin Pool, located at 400 W. Cherokee Avenue in Enid Oklahoma.

Claim your spot at 8:30 p.m.! Bring a blanket to watch the movie on the pool deck or bring a pool float to watch from the shallow end! The movie will begin at 9 p.m.

Event Coordinator Karen Haggard says, “The community is invited to come and enjoy a fun summer night out with the family at Champlin Pool. If you haven’t seen Aquaman, now is the time!”

According to Cory Buller, Parks and Recreation supervisor, the City of Enid’s parks department will be providing FREE popcorn and water for a snack.

A rain date is to be determined.

2024 Champlin Pool set to open for the Season

WHEN: Tuesday, May 28

WHERE: 400 West Cherokee Avenue, Enid, OK 73701

DETAILS: City of Enid Parks and Recreation officials announce the opening of Champlin Pool for the 2024 season.

Beginning Tuesday, May 28, Champlin pool will officially open with the following operating hours:

Pool Schedule Days Time
Lap Swim Tuesday thru Friday 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Open Swim Tuesday thru Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Swimming lessons will also begin Tuesday, June 4 and continue through Friday, July 26 as follow:

Preschool Level 1 3 to 5 Tuesday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Preschool Level 2 3 to 5 Tuesday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Learn to Swim Level 1 6 to 12 Tuesday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Learn to Swim Level 2 6 to 12 Tuesday thru Friday 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Learn to Swim Level 3 6 to 12 Tuesday thru Friday 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The pool entrance fee is $3.00 per individual per day for the lap swim, open swim, aqua cardio, and swimming lessons. Summer pool passes are available for open swim: $30 for first family member and $20 for the second family member.

Private pool parties are scheduled on Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Individuals interested in swimming lessons or private pool parties, must call to register at (580) 616-7313.

DETAILS: City of Enid officials announced today, that on Wednesday May 22nd, a portion of the alley at 401 West Broadway Avenue located between South Jefferson Street and South Adams Street will be closed.

The alley closure will allow contractors to repair an HVAC unit.

Construction is expected to last approximately four weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction.

DETAILS: City of Enid announced there will be a road closure for both lanes of traffic
on the east side of the West Chestnut Avenue and North Cleveland Street intersection will be closed allowing contractors to tie-in to the existing main for a new waterline installation.

The closure will last approximately one week, weather permitting.

City Hall Lower Level Closed to Public for Final Stages of Community Development Department Construction

DETAILS: To facilitate the final phase of renovations and improvements to the Community Development Department, the lower level of City Hall will be closed to the public from Tuesday, May 14 to Monday, June 10.

Online Services: During this period, we encourage all our constituents to utilize the resources available on our official website. Our digital platform is designed to ensure that you have uninterrupted access to the essential services and information you need. Online resources are located at: Enid.org/CommunityDevelopment.

Continued Support and Assistance: We understand the importance of maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring that your questions and concerns are addressed promptly. Our dedicated staff will remain available to provide support via telephone and email throughout the renovation period. This information is available on the website.

Access to In-Person Services: While we strongly encourage individuals and businesses to call or email with questions and concerns, a staff member will be available to assist those needing in-person services related to building permits, planning, zoning, and property inspection in room 122 on the first floor of City Hall. Meetings and conferences can be scheduled upon request.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of improvement and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly renovated department.

During the road closure, West Willow Road and West Randolph can be used as detour routes.

DETAILS: City of Enid officials announced there is an emergency water outage and road closure due to a main break.

The following street will be closed during the repair:
• West Chestnut Avenue from North Grant Street to Commercial Circle.

The block area of possible water outage is:
• West Chestnut Avenue from North Grant Street to North Lincoln Street,
• Lydell Carr Drive, portion located north of West Chestnut Avenue,
• West Elm Avenue from North Grant Street to North Lincoln Street,
• North Grant Street from West Elm Avenue to West Chestnut Avenue, and
• North Lincoln Street from West Elm Avenue to West Chestnut Avenue.

Water services are expected to be restored by the end of the day.
