Valentine’s Day ❤️ is 2 weeks away!
I’m here to share one of our FAVORITE play date sensory bin w/ you!
Everything you see we bought at Dollar Tree for less than $10!!! 😱
💕Head to your local DT grab a storage bin (one w/ a lid is ideal for storage later).
💕Pick up 4-6 Valentines themed items, usually found in the front right of the store. ✨Also be sure to check out the craft isle for other fun things that would add textures & colors to your bin… a bag of rice is also fun, but a tad messy! 🤪
💕Don’t forget to grab some tongs and/cups for sorting!!
Fun doesn’t have to be expensive!
❤️This keeps them busy for a good 30 minutes & was SO worth it!!

The girls had a the opportunity to collect on their reward for a good week today. Both requested cake 🍰
I knew we had to find some place local to get some GOOD cake.
I had heard that The Salty Cod had a Gelato and Cake Shop… so we ventured into Athens to check it out!
One had their 🤎 set on chocolate cake & the other just wanted something sweet.
Who knew that today was actually #nationalchocolatecakeday 🤷🏻♀️
We settled for the Italian Rainbow Cake and a warm Cinnamon Roll.

Imagine letting go of having to say “yes” to everyone about everything just so you don’t ruffle any feathers… including your kids.
1️⃣If saying “yes” to an event, outing, or function infringes on time we could have been spending together as a family the answer will be a firm “NO”!
2️⃣ There will be more no’s when it come to TV and screen time. Those no’s will be exchanged for more time devoted to being outside, playing games, and doing activities together!
3️⃣ There will be more bold no’s when situations have the potential to compromise the routines, beliefs, practices, or values that we have in place in our household.
✨ It’s also my goal to find more things to do with my family aside from playing with toys…
• Baking/Cooking
• Dance parties
• Nature scavenger hunts
• Creativity time… through arts and crafts
• Gardening… if it’s too cold to plant outside, starting seeds and flowers inside to transplant later
• Chores
• Building things
• Imaginative play
I’ve always been a people pleaser, and in turn I’ve always compromised my own happiness. NO MORE! Here’s to putting myself and my family first! I challenge you to do the same!

In the past 4 days we’ve put up 11 Christmas trees and various other decorations, made 5 cheesecakes and 4 pies, driven about 400 miles, packed, unloaded, washed, dried and packed for 4 people. Here’s to an enjoyable Thanksgiving time with my family!

Our recent trip to Mentone and Fort Payne led us to the coolest ice cream shop!
🍦 We most definitely indulged in a scoop of paradise (Reese’s for me & Butter Pecan for hubs) at Lookout Mountain Creamery and Desserts in Fort Payne, AL!
From creamy delights to sweet treats, this spot is a haven for dessert lovers.
We might have also taken a Chess Square and Key Lime Square back to our AirBnB for a late night snack! 🤪

Here’s a quick and easy hot chocolate recipe before you head out to trick or treat! 👻4 cups of milk👻2 scoops of chocolate milk powder from the Patriot Wellness Box (10g of protein per scoop)👻1/3 cup of chocolate chips 🖤Mix powder and milk together in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. 🖤Reduce the heat to low add in the chocolate chips 🖤Pour into your disposable coffee cups, top with mini marshmallows, and ENJOY! #halloween #hotchocolate #quickrecipes #inthekitchen #buildingcommunity #asouthernmama
🧡🖤We got a little creative with some of our craft stash today and made some super easy, super cute ghosts! SUPPLY LIST👻White 6”x9” inch sticky foam sheets or white construction paper 👻Black construction paper 👻Cotton Balls👻Glue👻Fishing line (if you want to hang them) INSTRUCTIONS 🖤Flip the sticky sheet over to the paper side, draw your ghost shape, and cut it out. 🧡Draw some faces on your black construction paper, and cut them out. 🖤Peel the paper off the foam sheet, & start sticking in the cotton balls. 🧡Grab the glue, add it to your ghost face pieces, and stick to the cotton balls. 🖤Once everything is dry take a single hole punch and put a hole near the top of the ghost. 🧡Cut your fishing line to size and tie it to the ghost. Hang on command hooks like we did or you can push pin them and have them hang from the ceiling! This is the perfect weather for a park play date! Today we visited John Barnes Park in Ardmore, TN. This park is unique, as it has so many recreational amenities to offer! 🌳A mostly shaded walking trail around the playground area, perfect for a leisurely stroll or an intense run! 🛝 A playground and sandbox perfect for all ages, with plenty of seating in shaded areas. ⚾️ The park also features multiple baseball/softball fields, football field, and a basketball court. 🥪 There are numerous picnic tables and areas throughout the park, perfect for a low key meal with family and friends. 🦮 The park is pet friendly. 💦There is a splash pad that is open from Mid May through Mid September (with plans for expansion in the next year). ✨Throughout the year, the park hosts a variety of community events, from festivals to outdoor movie nights.
