Congratulations to the Technician Course "graduates" who passed their licensing exam last night.

6 students passed their Technician test and 2 passed their General test.

We still have a few that couldn't make it to last nights VE session but will take tests soon when they have the chance.
We will continue to make ourselves available for any "Elmering" (tutoring) that may be needed even after getting their license.

There was a short discussion last night about maybe having a General course some time next year. Stay tuned.

Again, keep your ears open on the repeaters and give a warm welcome to the new hams coming into our ham community.

Welcome to a new week fell hams.
I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving.

So here are the events of the week and month.

This Thursday, December 4th there will be a VE session for the Technician courses we have been running. Test will be from 6-8pm and open to anyone, not just for those in the classes. If you've been self studying or are looking to upgrade your current license, you're welcome to come on over.
Requirements for testing for new license are, a valid photo ID, your FCC FRN and $15.
If you are upgrading, you'll need a photo ID, a printed COPY of your current license and $15.

FRIDAY we will be having the December business meeting at the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa NM. We do this every year as we support the NWS for SkyWarn Recognition Day. Meeting will be at the normal 7pm meeting time.
This is your chance to see the inner workings of the Weather Service if you haven't seen it before, or if you have you can see what new upgrades they may have done.

Friday the 19th will be the annual Christmas Party & White Elephant Auction. More details will be posted later after this week s events.

Only 18 more days to the Christmas Party and 24 days to Christmas itself, so you still have time to get those special hams in your life a nice gift.

Don't forget everyone, tomorrow morning about 9ish, we are having our "W**d Pickin Hoedown" AKA fall cleaning around the outside of the clubhouse, doing some w**d eating and other basics.
The more of us that show up, the quicker we make our beloved clubhouse look nice on the outside again and it should stay that way all winter.

So come on out and help us do a little tidying up. See y'all in the morning 🤠

Congratulations to the new officers for the 2025-2026 year.
Yes, elections took place on Friday night and our new officers are as follows.
President - Steve KF5VZG
Vice President - Bob KF5VLJ
Secretary - Heidi KE5BHT
Treasurer - Sean KD6CUB

And as it is the new year for the club, dues are due. $24 to renew your membership isn't bad. If you can't do it in person, please feel free to mail in a check to the clubhouse. Also please include whether or not you are an ARRL member or not.

Ok everybody, this Thursday, September 4th starts our new Technician license training course. Class will start at 6pm at the clubhouse. The classes will run 2 hours a night 1 day a week for several weeks, we will cover everything needed and even get you on the air during classes.

We will be using the ARRL Technician class study manual, link below. If you don't have if for the 1st class, that's ok. We'll have 1 or 2 extras that can be borrowed.

Spread the word to anyone you know that want to become a ham operator. See you there. 🤠

Howdy Y'all!!!
This upcoming Friday the 29th is the 5th Friday of the month. That means movie and pizza night.
The doors will open at 6pm and movie will start about 7pm.
I believe we will have an 80s classic for our viewing pleasure.
Come out and join the ham family with a fun filled evening.
