Genesis 32:9-12 NIV
[9] Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, Lord, you who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’ [10] I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps. [11] Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children. [12] But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.'"

So far, whenever something came against Jacob he acted out on his fear. His fear sometimes led to dishonesty and deceit. But, this time, HE PRAYED. Not only did he pray but he remembered what God spoke to him. He reminded God of his word to him. He demonstrated faith not fear.

Thank you my God that your work in us is not done yet! Thank you Lord for your patience with us. For never giving up on us. Thank you for the things we face, for the trials, because they draw us closer to you, because they exercise and grow our faith. Tonight instead of giving into fear we stand firm on the truth of your word, of the promises you've spoken over us. In Jesus name.

So many people get this scripture wrong, especially when it comes to secular pages. Money is a good tool, we need the money to run things in this lifetime. But don't let the money control you, you control the money. Don't love it.

Matthew 6:24 states, "You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money".
