Tonight stays cloudy for a low of 23°. Overnight, there is a possibility of patchy fog/freezing fog developing. This chance is low, but something to watch out for those that may be traveling.

Christmas Eve warms up to 32° due to southerly winds. As we head into Christmas morning, there will be another small chance for fog/freezing fog. This chance looks to be higher than tonight's with dense fog possible. There also may be a few flurries/drizzle as well, though no accumulation is expected, especially with highs in the upper 30s.

Those looking to take their lights down or Christmas decorations after the 25th will be welcomed with highs in the upper 30s, low 40s. However, it will come with chances for rain.

You'll want to take some extra time on your morning commute. Gusty winds along with a bit of light snow has kept roads partially covered at times.

We should see the end in the next few hours, as skies clear out. This will give us some sunshine in the afternoon with a high of 23°. Cold temperatures replaces precipitation chances as we cool down to 3° Saturday morning.

For the weekend, highs slowly trend back towards the 30s. With warmer weather comes a few more chances for snow and/or rain.

First snow event of the season!

A WINTER STORM WARNING WILL BE IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM THURSDAY MORNING TO 3 AM FRIDAY MORNING.

Heavy snow is expected to fall which will give way to hazardous road conditions. Winds will also be gusty which will reduce visibility. Chief Meteorologist Matt Schaefer-WQOW News 18 will have you covered this afternoon and evening with the latest information on this event.

A mainly cloudy day is in-store for the Chippewa Valley with highs in the mid 20s. Those heading out for the Clearwater Parade tonight will want to bundle up with temperatures staying in the 20s. However, we won't get much cooler with a low of 19°. The only thing to watch out for are some slippery stretches overnight with chances for patchy freezing fog.

After another cool day, we get a nice weekend warm-up with highs in the 40s. If you are looking forward to this weather, you'll want to enjoy it as it lasts with below average temperatures returning early on in the work week.

Light snow here at the studio. Kind of pretty to see as the flakes are big and falling slowly. Shouldn’t add up to more than a dusting to a half an inch.

Flurries and light snow has been possible through the evening hours of Sunday. We'll continue to have chances overnight into Monday morning as temperatures stay in the teens. Most are expected to nothing to a dusting, but areas southwest of 94 could get up to a half an inch. After a bit of morning snow, Monday has mostly to partly cloudy skies and a high of 27°.

Midweek, we get a quick mix of warmer and cooler weather with another chance for snow and/or rain. Speaking of warmer weather, next weekend looks to much more seasonable for this time of year.

Cold, breezy winds haven't slowed down and won't anytime soon. Saturday night cools to a low of 10° with winds chills in the single digits. Those real feels continue Sunday for a high of 23° and mostly to partly cloudy skies.

For the start of the work week, highs stay in the mid 20s with a few flurries possible. More chances for snow enters the forecast midweek as we see temperatures as high as 32° and as low as 7°.

Morning light snow and flurries has been present during the morning hours. While these are adding little to our snow totals, you can expect some slippery stretches as some of what has fell yesterday did freeze. Also, there is a reduction in visibility due to gusty winds.

We'll continue to have chances for snow through most of the morning. However, chances rapidly decrease towards the afternoon as cloud cover decreases. What won't change through drier conditions is our wind speeds. These gusts keep our real feels throughout the day in the single digits.

Many talk about a white Christmas, but this afternoon has been a white Thanksgiving.

Low-hanging stratus clouds have given areas a bit more snow than expected this morning with 1.6" measured at the studio.

Part of this is due to a factory in Menomonie that has had super cooled particles emitted that have formed into snowflakes. Along with this, we have had a few snow bands develop due to the right temperatures and moisture in the atmosphere.

What I have seen driving out, road conditions vary depending on if and when they were plowed. Other than snow on the roads, winds have reduced visibility.

If you are heading out later this afternoon and evening, we still have the possibility for a bit more accumulation, especially areas along or south of 94. Thus, make sure you are taking it slow out there while visiting friends and family.

If you were wondering why we got a bit more snow than expected, this is one of the culprits. Don't see this every day.

🤓🍽️ Hungry for some science this morning?! Check out this plume of snow originiating from a factory near Menomonie! This feature has been producing light snow for several hours and extends for about 100 miles. Our friends at US National Weather Service La Crosse Wisconsin first pointed this out overnight and one of our meterologists traveling for the holiday was able to confirm. There is some minor accumulation, so use caution on your way to holiday festivities. Elsewhere, more scattered flurries and snow showers are expected throughout the day with little to no accumulation expected.

Happy Thanksgiving! Whether you are traveling for the holidays, or staying at home, you won't have to worry too much about today's weather. Our high for Thanksgiving reaches 27° with breezy winds. There is a slight chance for a few flurries/light snow in the early evening. However, if any does fall, little to no accumulation is expected. Tonight, gusty winds give us a low of 12° with real feels as low as -5°. These conditions will continue into most of next week where we'll get our next chance for snow.

Tonight, temperatures drop to 19°. Any precipitation that did fall will freeze and give way to some slippery stretches on roads. For Tuesday and Wednesday, our highs stay in the lower 30s. As we head into Thanksgiving, temperatures will stay in the teens and 20s, with the possibility of having single digit lows. The good news for those traveling for the holidays, we aren't expecting any rain/snow/wintry mix over the next coming days.

Rain moves in as early as 9 pm to 10 pm tonight as we only hit a low of 35°. Overnight, this rain will slowly turn into a wintry mix and then to snow. This will make for some slippery conditions for those commuting Monday morning. While we are in for morning snow, not all of it will stick as we have a high of 38°. Along with the snow, there will be reductions in visibility with blowing snow as we have winds up to 20+ mph.
