Metro Link Suspects Wanted

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department hopes the community can help them identify and locate two persons of interest they believe are connected to three armed Metrolink robberies.

On December 20th at appx. 7pm a westbound train, a black male suspect displayed a gun, robbing a woman of her personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of money.

On December 21st, at approximately 10:30pm, someone was robbed on another westbound train with the same pattern.

On December 23rd at approximately 11:50pm at the Belleville Metrolink Station, a victim was shot.

Investigators are looking for a black male wearing a black face mask and a black female wearing a black hoodie and a black hat.

Wanted for Questioning

Cahokia police are asking the community assistance for two people described as person of interest in the murder of a 16 year-old and the shooting of a 17-year-old. The shooting occurred on Thanksgiving Day when police found the two teens injured inside a stolen black Honda Accord in the 300 block of Adlele Avenue.

The two people wanted for questioning are Michael T. Hunter, 20, of the 300 block of West Van Street in Belleville, along with Scorian Johnson, Jr., 21, of the 2500 block of Ivy Lane in Granite City. Both are considered armed and dangerous.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of these two individuals, please call Detective Johnson at 618-660-7220 or Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS. A reward that can be collected anonymously is offered for any tips leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder.

𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐒 𝐉𝐔𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐋𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑

𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐓. 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐈𝐒 – After a thorough investigation by the Illinois State Police (ISP) Public Safety Enforcement Group (PSEG), St. Clair County State’s Attorney James Gomric today charged a 15-year-old male of East St. Louis with First Degree Murder (Class M Felony) and Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking (Class X Felony). The 15-year-old is currently detained at the St. Clair Juvenile Detention Center.

On August 27, 2022, the East St. Louis Police Department requested ISP PSEG to conduct a death investigation. A female, later identified as 49-year-old Harriett Childers of St. Louis, was located in the 1800 block of Gaty Avenue with a gunshot wound. Childers was full time nurse and had been driving for a ride share when the shooting occurred. Childers was pronounced deceased on scene.

ISP DCI was assisted by the East St. Louis Police Department, St. Clair County Coroner’s Office, ISP Crime Scene Services, FBI, and United States Attorney Southern District of Illinois. No further information will be disclosed at this time.
