Good morning, good people, if you all didn’t know, i’ve been working tirelessly for the past couple years now in making East St. Louis a better place to live, through my nonprofit. BuildN The Foundation- BTF. Well, this Saturday i’m hosting a cleanup at the 5th & Missouri Metro-link Station from 10am-12pm. No need to bring anything. Everything we need will be provided. Our children learn by seeing. So the goal is to allow our children to see what it looks like for us to come together as a community to accomplish a goal for the city that we all love.

Excited to announce our first annual Clean City Coalition Banquet!! We are a grassroots organization that has been pioneering systemic change for our community through fighting against environmental racism and bringing restorative justice to our residents. We will have a full course meal with live music, a keynote speaker, and we will also be auctioning off a special art piece by local artist Mykael Ash!! On December 21, 1998 I witnessed the most tragic event of my life. I witnessed both the homicide and su***de of both of my parents. My mother was shot seven times and my father would then turn the gun on himself. I hid my younger brother in the basement to shield him of what would later become the most traumatic events of our lives.

It took me years to understand what was being done in my life. I thought that my destiny ended here but that was a lie! I am a walking testimony and I want you to know that you survived the tragic events in your life because you were given a purpose.

We Speak Foundation’s Pain into Purpose Tour is for people like me, that felt shattered when they lost a loved one, for the person who thought giving up was the option, who felt that living in this world was an obstacle, when you felt that there was no one you could trust, who felt unloved, defeated, tortured by what you could not change.
