Start NOW! When starting a business or side hustle, we often think we need to wait until right before launch (or even after) to start marketing. However, you should actually start hyping up your new business in the months leading up to it. Don’t have months before launch? No problem! Here are several ways to start getting people hyped up for your business whether you’re 3 months from launch or you’ve already begun.
1) Do some hype up content on social media (yes, your business should have social media even if not launched yet!). This content could be of the physical space coming along, what products or services you’re offering, or behind the scenes of you getting things ready
2) If starting a business with a physical location, join your local Chamber of Commerce and have them host a ribbon cutting. No physical location? That’s okay! Host a launch party online or hype up the first market/event your new business will be attending!
3) Offer some sort of incentive for the first 3/10/20 people who buy your products or book your services. Maybe a gift card, a certain percentage off, or a free item with purchase/booking
In short, be your own hype person! Ask friends and family to spread the word. Don’t wait to market your business! It could mean the difference between 1 or 2 sales and sold out in those beginning days 🙌🏻✨

Choosing which events to attend as a vendor can be challenging. There’s so many options and it can be pricey if you’re not making sales or gaining new customers. So how do you choose between large markets and small markets? I say there are pros and cons to both. But the success of these events really comes down to how well organized they are and how well they are marketed.
So ask around to other fellow business owners, see which events they have done that they’ve enjoyed and which they say to avoid. And always make sure you are marketing the event as well. Don’t leave everything up to the organizers, you need to be your own advocate.

So many times I find a new business on Instagram and I go to their profile and can’t find where they’re located or where they service. So then if I’m really interested, I’ll go to their website. Not there either? I’m done and have moved on.

We all hit those plateaus. Our numbers remain stagnant and may even drop a little. Even people who have been consistently posting and getting lots of engagement hit a plateau from time to time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not spam people with emails. It is a sure fire way to have your content tuned out by them. It’s the same with posting multiple times a day on social media, people just start tuning you out and your messaging gets lost. Here is when you should be emailing:
-When you have sales or promotions
-New product alerts
-Important info like store closures, moving locations, or store hour changes
-Events your business will be at (festivals, markets, etc) or events you are having in your store
And these do not need to all be separate emails. So if you are emailing daily or even multiple times daily, please rethink your strategy. People are overloaded with emails and this may backfire on you and your business.
