Think about the last time you tried something new. Maybe it was a new hobby, or a new sport, or maybe you were learning a new skillset for work.

You probably weren't great at it, at least not at first. And that's okay. No one is great at everything, but the important thing is that you started. And with practice and consistency, over time you will become great.

So remember this the next time you're a beginner at something and you get frustrated that you're not doing as well as others who have been doing it for a long time. And whatever you do, don't give up.

Raise your hand if you often find yourself procrastinating on the important things you know need to get done? 🙋‍♀️

Well, you're not alone. Most people procrastinate (guilty). And it's usually because whatever it is you're avoiding is causing you a lot of stress.

Seems backwards, right? But when you think about it, it actually kinda makes sense. When you avoid something that feels hard or scary, you get a temporary sense of relief and also get a short burst of dopamine. The more you procrastinate, the more likely it is you'll repeat that behavior. But the more you procrastinate, whatever it is that you're avoiding builds and becomes more and more stressful.

So here's how you can stop procrastinating:
1️⃣ Forgive yourself and recognize that your stress is what's causing you to procrastinate and take control.
2️⃣ Think about what future you would do. Think about what your life would look like when you can put what's stressing you out behind you.
3️⃣ Take action. Replace the habit of procrastination with the habit of getting started.
