It can be intimidating to be in front of a camera. We get it.

That's why we put so much emphasis into the overall experience of partnering with us. We strive to make that experience for our interview subjects, well, remarkable.

As Annie Harala puts it, we want people who sit down to share their story with us to feel like their sitting with a friend having coffee or a glass of wine.

Cheers to being comfortable! 🥂

In fact the best compliment we get is when our subject only first realizes a few questions in that our conversation (we don't like the term interview) is already well underway.

And what we can do through story is help people find their connections to other people's humanity.

Ever wonder who tells the storyteller's story?

We finally turned the camera on ourselves, and I'll be honest – it pushed me past my comfort zone.

Despite my years as a TV news anchor, this was different. No script, no newsroom persona – just raw conversation. Here, like any good story, we had to touch on the conflict or the pain. For me… that was the decision to exit news in 2021.

While running a newsroom had been my dream, I realized my true passion for hands-on storytelling and creativity was calling. News management just wasn’t cutting it.

That entrepreneurial drum that was beating on my heart needed to be freed.

Like every story we craft for our clients, this wasn't about the what or listing our achievements – it was about sharing the genuine 'why' behind scenes at Story North.

The best part? Experiencing our own process from the other side, from first conversation to final cut - alongside our phenomenal team that we’ve built.

We're excited to finally share our film "The Unconventional Chef".

Thanks to the DECC - Duluth Entertainment Convention Center for their trust and partnership in telling the story of their executive chef and his journey to making their food remarkable.

The DECC knew that to connect emotionally with potential clients, they needed to get to heart of their story.

We loved getting to know Jerry and his team.

Great food, drinks and laughs were on the menu at the DECC - Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Tuesday night for private screening of the "The Unconventional Chef".

The film follows the journey of the DECC's executive chef to elevating the menu at the convention center. It's no easy task plating hundreds, if not thousands, of guests in one sitting.

It was exactly 29 years ago this week when Story North's Creative Director Kevin Jacobsen fell in love with television news. 📺

The Blizzard of 1996 shut down schools across the New York Tri-State area for several days. Kevin, with plenty of Lego by his side, stayed glued to local news and weather. ❄️

We recently recreated that moment for our Story North brand film that is currently under production. Look for it here soon! 🎥

✨ Meet three remarkable women whose lives were transformed thanks to Divine Konnections Inc.

We had the privilege of capturing their powerful stories in a short film that premiered at the organization's annual Sneaker Ball fundraiser. 🎬 Story North was a proud sponsor of the event.

We look forward to continuing to tell the story of this organization and the important work they're doing in the community.

We took a stroll down the red carpet this week for the world premiere of the “Britto Doc”, in Miami.

The documentary is about the life and work of artist Romero Britto. You know his work when you see it!

Our favorite storytelling friends and mentors at Muse Storytelling produced the incredibly powerful and well-told documentary. A big thanks to the team for the invite!

We took advantage of the beautiful fall weather to film several scenes for “Watercolors – A Documentary about SJ Nielsen". We spent some time at Black Beach and Gooseberry Falls.

The short film will follow artist SJ Nielsen as she attempts to land her dream client: secure a partnership with a national park.
