Devotion for The Scattered

Ever warm yourself by the enemy’s fire? I have. Most will not have planned to be there, but maybe following Jesus got hard, sheep can scatter when the Shepherd appears to be amiss. Perhaps uninvited trauma joined the journey and we had no response but to run away. It was natural and maybe that’s the problem, ambushed we ran off course and sought comfort in a cold and lonely place. But alas we are found out, we don’t belong with them anymore, we belong to Him, they know it, we know it, we give ourselves away, and most of all…He knew it all along.

If I can encourage you, there is another fire out in that wilderness, it’s all consuming but doesn’t scorch it’s host, won’t burn out, it’ll call you by name, and there you can recover purpose and mission but most of all…I AM. Turn aside now and see the wonder for yourself.
