Hilary Nowatzki-May here 👋 I read this post from Alli Olimb, 1st Vice President of the North Dakota Newspaper Association and editor in chief of the Walsh County Press, and had to share. Her words ring so true!

"This is what it means to not put all of your eggs in one basket.
There are so many ways to diversify your messaging and your marketing. Your local media outlets are one of them.
It could be an auction sale, a skating show, a winning team at the local school, or a pancake breakfast... if your idea of telling your story is Facebook and Instagram, that is great. What would be even better is putting a notice in our local calendar of events, buying an ad, or sending in a press release.
For all of you 'Well I don't read the paper.' people... Fine. (There are plenty of others who are as evidenced by my weekly coffee budget, but I digress.)
Contact your local radio station. Put up a flyer at the gas station. Put a message on the local bank sign.
Get better at telling your story. Get outside of your bubble. It's where the other people are and they might not be able to log in when you need them to."
- Alli Olimb
