Hey everyone! It’s been a while. I’m just checking in.

I don’t really know where to start so I’ll just start.

This has been a hard year for me. So many of the things I had planned not only didn’t come to fruition, but quite frankly crashed and burned and took me down with them.

That includes many of the plans I had for this podcast.

Feeling incredibly overwhelmed on a variety of fronts in my life, I was forced to step away much more abruptly than I would have liked to, and with many recorded episodes left unreleased. I want to apologize to all those who I promised a platform to and failed to deliver. I will find a way to rectify that if you allow me to.

I have been away for many months now, and my life has gone through some changes, but ultimately things are headed in the right direction. But with this podcast I put more of myself out there publicly on a larger scale than I ever have in my life, and when my struggles made me feel like I was drowning, I had no idea how to manage that on such a public stage.

The people who know me best would never describe me as someone who runs away from things, but I must admit that in this case, I did.

I don’t know exactly what my plans are going forward for this podcast, but I would at least like to find a way to do right by those who I promised a platform to and failed to deliver in the upcoming year.

Sometime before this year’s end or near the start of next year, I will release an episode explaining more about my absence, because I feel there are lessons to be learned from my journey and experience, or dare I say my story haha.

I love you all and I am truly thankful for all your support and patience. On this holiday where we celebrate gratitude, my gratitude goes to you.

Due to being stretched thin with increasing demands, obligations, and opportunities, after I am finished releasing all the unreleased episodes of this podcast, as well as recording with those I have promised recording dates to, will be going on an indefinite (if not permanent) hiatus. I apologize to all who have been inconvenienced by this, but this is simply too much for me to consistently keep up with right now all on my own, and I am not in a position to hire help. Thank you all for your love and support and I hope you enjoy the remaining upcoming content I have to offer before this hiatus begins.

***ANNOUNCEMENT***

Due to increased demands from other opportunities and obligations, after releasing the unreleased episodes and recording with the last few people I offered recording slots to, I will be putting my podcast Someone’s Story on indefinite (if not permanent) hiatus. It has simply become far too much for me to manage by myself and I am not able to invest in hiring help. This was only ever supposed to be a temporary pandemic project anyway, and it became bigger and lasted longer than I ever imagined. I thank everyone who I have recorded with for their patience and I will have more info/announcements over the next week or two. This is bittersweet and breaks my heart to some extent, but as any creative person knows sometimes we have to kill our darlings in order to move forward.

I know I’m behind schedule on releasing episodes. I’m juggling a lot right now with schedule changes/adjustments as I have started 2 new jobs (one part-time, one contract) and have had my hours increased on another (contract). I do this podcast almost entirely for free, and I do all the recording, editing, production, everything on my own. I’m doing my best to keep up with a passion project that has gotten way bigger than I ever anticipated. I love you all and I apologize to all who have been inconvenienced.

I am so excited for the start of everyone. was difficult and did not go as I planned due to various recurring struggles with issues as well as other factors , but I am proud to say it still had some very bright moments. I hope to be more consistent in providing with those this season.

I will be beginning to record again for .story_podcast this month and start releasing episodes again in . And I will be reaching out to those who I have had to reschedule with or delay releases for this weekend and this coming week.

However, recently I have been thinking about the value of spiritual/religious literacy and education in a world that seems to be becoming increasingly isolated thanks to pandemic conditions, and I would like to utilize my fascination and for to create somewhat of a sister to Someone’s Story for this subject matter. and have shaped culture, tradition, and society in ways that we do not even realize, perhaps even every bit as much as language has. If I had it my way, / would be something everyone learns. I am targeting the spring (March, April, or May) to begin recording for this.

As a with roots in I have great reverence for genuine in all its forms, and that is why I have chosen to name this project after a quote by from his series of that you can read if you swipe to the next slide.

After taking a short hiatus after , I went into very excited.

It was the first where I used a , and I was and fortunate enough to release great with great guests such as .ig , Phil Bieg of , .vhcoaching , / , and .i.t .

And I had the pleasure of recording with such as , , , , , , and . Sadly, due to a series of issues that would marr my , as well as other extenuating circumstances in my , the I recorded with this latter list of guests I mentioned never saw the light of day.

As someone who is passionate about giving people a for their , that has filled me with deep sadness. If you are one of these guests, I would like to inform you that I am trying to recover the files that may have been lost from these . If I am unable to do so, I am happy to re-record with you. Your deserve to be heard. Or, if you would rather just re-record anyway, I am happy to do that as well and release our previous as of some sort if I am able to recover it.

I will be reaching out to you soon to discuss options, and I apologize profusely for the inconvenience. I have a new and I have taken steps to prevent this from happening again.

On 11/26/2020, I released the debut episode of .story_podcast . I did it under the “John Way” because this was supposed to be a hobby and I didn’t want it to interfere with other areas of my life. But eventually, changes started happening in my life, and I started to realize I was building a through this creative endeavor. I eventually decided to take a leap of faith, see if I could build a business of my own, and while things are starting to come together a couple months later than I had anticipated, it finally seems like the puzzle pieces are beginning to fit together. Without this , I may never have connected with , who I have been frequently collaborating with since March 2021 assisting with running for men and women in from and . Shoutout to for that connection. Without this podcast, I most likely would never have decided to pursue or , so most likely wouldn’t exist, and I most likely would never have met all my wonderful cohorts who I will be attending with tonight. Without this podcast I probably would have never met , whose documentary project I have been asked to participate in. And if I had never taken all these risks on myself, I don’t know if I would have been brave enough to go for my first contracted consulting position, which I finally started assignments on this week. Translation: Would you like to use your platform to promote our crypto pump & dump scam to your fans so you can scam them out of a ton of money.

NEVER AND I HOPE YOU ALL LOSE EVERY CENT YOU HAVE. Be careful out there folks. Don’t assume the creators you support care about you. Tons of people with platforms, sometimes even household names, have agreed to screw over the very supporters and admirers who they owe their careers to through sketchy crypto scams like these because they get paid to do it. I cannot imagine a more abusive way for a creator to use their platform than to pump crypto scams that are the modern-day equivalent of what the Wolf of Wall Street went to jail for.

If anyone ever has the audacity to insult my integrity with a DM like this one, prepare to be called out, reported, and blocked. Get tf out my face because I’m not about to pimp out my supporters in a pump & dump.

Hi everyone. My computer has once again stopped working, and it is very apparent that I need to buy a new one. This is an especially inopportune time for my computer to stop working considering I am just starting a new contract consulting job and I am nearing the end of my coaching certification program, so I really need to focus all my efforts into properly resolving this issue and making sure there are no hiccups in completing my certification and starting this new position. I apologize to those I have already recorded with as well as those of you who look forward to my content for the inconvenience and these repeated technical difficulties.

I've been neglectful of my podcast recently because I've had a lot on my plate and a lot on my mind, and I wanted to use this as an opportunity for to reflect on my responsiblity to myself as well as my responsiblity as a creator. I did a similar LIve on Instagram (not sure how to do IG Live and Facebook Live at the same time). Perhaps this is an exercise in unnecessary and overcompensatory self-importance, but nevertheless I do not like walking away from things I put effort into without offering explanation, especially now that I have built an audience, which is a reality that I am still adjusting to and coming to terms with.

Thank you all for your continued patience. Lately I have been very focused on other priorities that have commanded my attention—some expected, some unexpected—and as a result I have been behind schedule on releasing episodes. I currently have 4 or 5 episodes recorded that just need to be edited and released, I just have not had a chance to do so.

And if I have not been as responsive to some of you, it is not because I don’t care, I have just been overwhelmed lately and I will touch base with you as soon as I can.

But regardless, I did want to make a special announcement.

Lately the amount of confusion, misinformation, armchair expertise, and animosity when it comes to the we find ourselves in has become very concerning to me, to the point where sometimes I myself get very confused and disoriented.

However, unlike many, I am fortunate and blessed to have some people in my life who are excellent resources and authorities on this topic who I trust and who I ask questions to, and I have decided to create an event where I make their expertise available to all of you. We are still trying to solidify a date for this event, but essentially it will be a / format where I moderate and you all can ask questions. I am also allowing people to submit questions they have beforehand. So if you have any questions you would like me to ask these experts on air, feel free to DM me those questions. I will create a separate post with more information on this event as well as the individuals involved.
