This aerial view, taken by Jim Stilwell shows progress on efforts to repair the Quick Creek Bridge and widen Ball Park Road. Crews have completed the bridge and asphalt work near Doniphan High School, and the road is ready for the I-beam pile driving to be done for the installation of guard rails, according to City Utilities Director Ronnie Griffin. “Once clean-up is completed and the inspection has been done, the road will be open for travel,” he said. Barring any unforeseen interruptions in the schedule, Griffin predicts the road will be ready to receive traffic by the end of next week. R.L. Persons Construction is the contractor for the project, which is a vital part of the city’s Quick Creek Bank Stabilization.
