Pretty stoked to have this killer on our team. has her own way of doing things and it’s pretty refreshing. She has a very real and open view on life and how she approaches her passion for riding. I spoke to her the other day and we talked about how instagram is used to show the very best parts of everyone’s reality when reality is that it takes failing a lot to get to those golden moments and that’s the reason they mean so much when you achieve it. We also spoke about how youngsters entering the sport or any sport really need to know that coming up short is all part of the process. She didn’t want to give the false impression that she does everything first try, so she not afraid to show you her fails or share that she’s not stoked today, its all part of the process. Don’t get me wrong. She is incredibly skilled and rides at a world class level. She puts in all the work to get there. I say that because I think it’s important that youngster is realized that it’s OK to suck in the beginning. Nobody is great right off the bat. And even if you are eventually, you will face some sort of adversity. Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t happen first try, just know that all your tries are leading up to victory. Thanks for picking up the call Campbell!

When it comes to kids and sports, I’ve always noticed one thing to be a constant truth. Kids don’t know what’s impossible. They only know what has been done. For instance, the backflip on a motorcycle or the double flip on Wakeboard. At one point folks thought that they were impossible or maybe just a one off thing that one guy could do, but was never going to be something that everyone could achieve. Fast forward now if you don’t throw a backflip in your run on a dirtbike, you’re probably not considered pro, Same could be said for the double flip and the pro ranks. Seems like every single person has a variation of a double invert now. has two variations of a triple on the cable, and has one behind the boat.🤯 I remember a few years back watching come into his own and thinking damn where did that come from!! Same with .c.brown and . These kids pushed what we thought was possible on board. Truly unbelievable skill sets. Theres a lot of people in leaving out but my point is that young athletes don’t care what others deem impossible, they watch their favorite riders do the gnarliest tricks and then they shoot for that as the standard. In turn upping the level of what it means to be the best. This image is of a young stud by the name of . He’s been on our team since he was about 8 or 9 years old. He had a large bag of tricks even then. He’s 12 now and has started to refine his riding. Every year he comes to the shoot and shows us something he’s been working on just for us. He knows we put a lot of value on style. When you’re young that is hard to achieve due to many factors. It usually doesn’t really shine through until the mid to late teenage years, but Kane has put the time in to make tricks like this method look sick! Not a small feet even if it seems simple to the uneducated eye. He’s got all the tricks and keeps adding to them, I don’t doubt he will leave his mark on the sport. He loves it and it shows. One day he will do something we all thought was impossible and some kid will end up making it a goal to be able to do that trick and once again up the level what it means to be great.

a couple years back while shooting in Alabama. This place was pretty fun to shoot at. All the locations are really fun actually. Good people create good memories. This rock behind Josh was big but it’s a tiny spec on a shoreline when you’re trying to line a photo up and use it as the backdrop. Josh has a very good sense of what I’m trying to get on the other side of the camera. He’s conscious of it, you obviously can’t talk out there on the fly while shooting. So lining shots up with solid action and sick backgrounds can be challenging even if you’re trying your hardest. If I want a rider positioned a certain spot I will holler at them while simultaneously I talk to the Chase boat driver and make sure he puts me where I need to be. Josh and I talked about this spot before going out or maybe the day before as we drove by it. When we came back across it he spotted it before me . Usually when Josh want to line one up I’m going to get rad sho

has been a part of team for quite a few years now. She knows the program and when you work with people like that, it makes your “job“ a whole lot easier. Things go smoothly when everybody involved has an idea of what the end goal is. Our job is to come up with things that look cool together to be able to market the products that we have been chosen to represent. The athletes do their very best on the water to make sure that the brand and their own image is portrayed in a way that makes them proud. It is my job to capture those moments so that, the photos reflect that. I also take pride in the work and always try to do my very best by the brand and the athletes over the course of a couple weeks of shooting. We will inevitably find some pretty amazing conditions. No matter how many times it happens though I’m always in love with those moments. Bec has a brand new board coming out this year and the silhouette is the perfect teaser for that. I also love silhouettes so this is a perfect photo for me to share with you while checking all the boxes mentioned above.

This bird has been spending time here behind my house for about 12-15 years now. I first noticed him one morning a long time ago behind the house because he sits in an area where I look out my back window and he’s very visible. So over the years I’ve kind of watched his patterns. He gets there early just after sunrise or as the sun is rising to get his first meal of the day. It’s pretty wild that if you get up as the sun is rising, you can see the lifecycle start to happen Bugs will hit the water, fish will start to eat the bugs and then birds come in and swoop up on the fish. Anyhow he moves pretty stealthily and drops in on the shad when he gets his chance. I always see him on the rooftop of the boat docks behind where I live and everyone and again I see him get framed up by the palms. I’ve always thought it was a cool photo but never actually took the picture. So recently I started leaving a camera body in the kitchen, and when I get up I’ll have it ready if the opportunity presents itself. He’s very aware and sneaking up on him isn’t happening so I just try to be there before he is and be still. Doesn’t always work. He notices something different and he just fishes somewhere else. This morning I saw him and he was in a slightly different spot. I could see him before he saw me, or at least I think I saw him first. So I waited and he ended up flying off the end of the roof too and I snagged him just before he was fully airborne. Pretty stoked he gave me the photo I wanted.

I was in a stand off with this little guy for what felt like forever. I pulled my camera out and he didn’t even flinch. Tensions were high. He flew away but I shot anyway just in case he comes back I’d recognize him. So far no trouble.

These guys are fun to be around. Bad ass family of Cowboys, but never short on laughs. The amount of un-common sense they have is refreshing. Always happy to hang with them when given the chance. We usually come up with some cool images and video and I typically leave some piece of equipment behind. I guess it’s a great reason to come back. 😂 here Stetson is doing his best to not steal the show but sometimes it’s hard. Ryder was nice enough to not upstage him. Everyone else was to busy laughing .

Got away from the 110 degree heat this past week out toward the coast. This little Doe came by while I was driving through so we stopped and shot a couple pics. It was soo nice out there. I didn’t want to leave, but Im gonna have to get a job as a CFO at tech company to be able to afford to live there. 😂 for now a couple days at a time is perfect.

Can’t wait to hang with and the entire crew here soon. Our fun average is very high. I think we’re 100 for 100 so far and we’re aiming to add another few days to that. We shot this last year while in strip with our buddies form . You never really know what you’re gonna get when you go to a location to shoot but when you’re with the right crew it’s always going to turn out good.

I had the pleasure of meeting John Holman a couple of years back while my friends were staying at his place while passing through CA. He let me into his home and graciously allowed me to shoot some images of my friend Steely on his property. I went back a few more times just to say hello. He and his wife Shelly were always super kind to me. She actually took this picture of us. He was showing me how to ride and talking to me about his grandson and just about life in general. We had a great time and I told him I’d come by and say hello from time to time if he was ok with that. He said anytime you want, you’re more than welcome. It had been several months since I’d stopped by so on the way to my girlfriend's place I decided to stop by and introduce him and Shelly to her. I’d told my girl about the both of them a few times. Anyhow we stopped in and said hello, shot the s**t for about an hour, and said goodbye. I told him I wouldn’t let it be that long until the next time I stopped over and if he ever needed anything to reach out to me. This was about two days before a 2-week long work trip that started on the 27th of May. Just a couple of days ago I heard that he had passed away. Although it saddens me to think I won’t be able to go by and say hello any longer I’m sure glad I decided to stop by the other day. I didn't have any plan to do so but I just made a left onto his driveway on a whim. The world is funny sometimes the way it seems to bring you to places at just the right time Grateful to have met you.

Rest In Peace Witch.

A handful of months ago sat down with and shot a few photos. I asked him to grab his guitar while we shot a few stills and just start playing. He’s a passionate musician and I felt like this captured the energy he brings to his music pretty well. Check my story to listen to him for a quick listen.

Once every so often you meet folks as purely talented as . Even less often that talent is combined with a work ethic and passion that uses the talent to excel past what most humans are capable of. I’ve been fortunate to be around quite a few people who have this combination of skill and work ethic. I just got a message from Brian and I clicked into it and started looking at the images we’ve shared back and forth. This one stood out to me because I remember the process of getting this to look the way it does. This on the surface is a basic move. A simple hand drag on the water while making an aggressive turn. Making it look cool on the other hand is anything but simple. I hadn’t seen a proper hand drag on the E Foil yet. I asked for it and watched the process unfold. It’s awesome to watch the best at their craft figure it out and even more awesome for them to value your idea enough to give it a try.

Just scrolling through photos to pass the time as I’m headed to work in North Carolina this next couple weeks. I ran across this image of standing out in front of a winch spot that we shot on a handful of years ago. If I was to guess I’d say this was 2016-2017 ish. California had been in a massive drought for some time and we finally got some rain out of nowhere. It was poured pretty hard for a long while, so much so that it flooded the area underneath these pipes you see here propped up by the concrete pillars. The lies are there to funnel water for the sierras to southern ca. earlier that day we had shot some images of using a little fill flash to make the image look a little shinier. Tanar crushed it and hit a sick image so afterwards we switched the light set up to shoot a back lit shot lighting up the rain and silhouetting the athlete to make the same spot have two completely different looks. This shot was the test to see how it would come out and it ended up being one of my favorites from the day. The water under pipes was only about 12” deep max , so even a small mistake could cost you. Fortunately for us it went off pretty dang perfect. Thanks for standing in the rain with me and always being one of the best people to have around when moments like this arise. Wakeboarding on the surface is a one person sport but unreality you do need a team, I’ll post and in my story so you can see the final images ad understand where we were and what we needed up with. Always the best times.

I went to visit my grandma yesterday. She was nearing the end of life here on this earth. She has done so much for me throughout life. She took care of us when my older brother and I were young. At first I broke down a bit when I saw her and after a while I just sat with her and started singing softly so she knew I was there. She opened her eyes for a moment and grabbed my hand. I can never repay her for her love and kindness, but I will always be grateful for her. She was one of a kind and I was lucky to have her as a grandma. Today she passed away and although I’m sad I’m also happy that she is finally at peace. The memories that bring tears to my eyes today will undoubtedly bring a smile to my face down the road. Love you Gabby. ❤️

Directly or indirectly if you’re a wakeboard enthusiast this man has affected your life. Beyond that he is responsible for helping so many people throughout his years in the water sports industry. He is a true pioneer and a great friend and father to his 3 girls. Wishing you a happy birthday. Much love always Scotty B!
