Report from Parks and Recreation! The crop for today is pictured below. As you can see this is the result from planting too late and too big a variety. For the fall garden which needs to be planted now, I need suggestions for what to plant that would be a fast yield. I have an idea for one of potatoes in five gallon buckets😊.

Let's have a meeting. Are Saturdays good. The 24th at one? Thanks to all volunteers! The greenhouse looks great!

We have a few tomatoes coming on. The diseased tomato plant has been removed. The potting soil can be distributed. The screen to keep out wasps can be installed. Thanks, Anthony for a door thanks opens out. And the tomatoes are standing up
😊.

Parks Update!
Look at the Fun Park! The tables have been sanded and painted, the playground equipment has been power washedThanks Cristy, Johnny, and Bella!

There is a special meeting to adopt a resolution to proceed with the FUN Park grant. We plan to have handicap access to all areas plus a new section adjacent to the current 26 year old playground. The old swing area needs upgraded.

On the 24th, I’d like to have volunteers clean up starting at 8 a.m. We will provide lunch before the greenhouse meeting.

We have a real problem at Devil's Backbone. Trash is not being placed in the trash cans or if it is, the lid is not replaced. We probably need to put up a sign or the Corps is going to close access. It is a great fishing spot. It would be sad to lose it.

Well, enough stream of consciousness! I’ll send out more organized info after Monday night’s special meeting.

If you were working in the greenhouse stapling the plastic to the beds, please check to see if you accidentally took the stapler with you. We replaced the sprinkler and need to redo the threshold. We need it. Thanks to Debra Callahan for donating it.

Until we get the beds filled with dirt we cannot complete the greenhouse which will grow fresh vegetables for the Food Cupboard. Once we get the dirt, we need muscles to help us shovel it into the beds. Meanwhile, we are planting in containers. If you have spare ones of a good size, please remember us. We set up an automatic watering system. Apryl Crane is the go to person for the greenhouse or you can call me. I’m in the book.

If you're looking for a great place to have lunch, I highly recommend the Well in Lead Hill! Their green salad with homemade Ranch Dressing is a must-try, and the ham and cheese sub is a perfect accompaniment. Don't let the pizza sign fool you, they have a diverse menu that will satisfy anyone's cravings!

Tony and Deb have two of the cutest Shih tzu puppies for sale. Both girls. I am continually amazed at these little chunks of joy! We have two from their previous litters: Muffin and Biscuit. Muffin is 4 and Biscuit is 1. They have been a delight and great companions for Jim and me. They also adore kids. Very smart. Now, these two puppies from their last litter are ready to give joy to you. These pups are 10 weeks old. Message me or Deborah Marshall for more info. Please share with those you think will be interested.

I just completed my first physical therapy session after shoulder surgery. It was painful, but manageable. I learned how to use my ice machine effectively, which really helps post-exercise. Twice a week for 6 weeks. I really like my therapist and am looking forward to healing completely. The right shoulder is next.

Does anyone know someone in the Lead Hill area who would be willing and able to show a YouTube video by projecting it on a screen in a crowded room? It’s a salute to our armed services. And it is coming soon.

Update: i was feeling pretty good after the doctor visit yesterday morning. Very tired but well enough for a Big Mac! Tami is here and the three of us played Crazy Eight. Jim went down for a nap and I was puttering in the kitchen when that heaviness started back up in my hand. Scared me but I got to my recliner and lay back. Tami told me I’d better take my BP. Very high. My head started to hurt like last Sunday. I wanted to wait and see but she called Connie, our friend next door. She advised 911. So off to the hospital I go. Turned out to be a TIA (mini stroke). I came back home. Good news: it wasn’t another stroke. Bad news: they may continue until I heal completely. I’m great this morning. God is good.

The last few years have taught me that when it is our time to leave this world no one can stop it. We have one life to live. The material things we invest in are left behind only to be discarded. Memories are important to me. I'm going to start a "reunion of friends". The idea is to see who reads a post without a picture. If no one reads my post, this will be a very short experiment. But if you are reading this message, make a comment using a single word about how we met. After that copy this message on your wall and I will also leave you a word. Please, don't leave a word and then not bother doing it.!!! Let’s go!🤭
