This is what pi**es me off, “adults” voting. What happened to adults? What happened to the “Republicans” being the adults in the room? I was always told growing up that republicans were the adults, the ones making adult decisions and keeping the country on the right track. You know, the “moral majority” That ship sat sail the day Trump came down his golden escalator in 2015 to announce his bid to run for president....

About a year and a half ago I starting listening to to audiobooks on my commute to and from work. I love to read but I find it hard to make time with work and house stuff and raising kids, but this was a little over an hour of drive time (34 minutes each way) that I was wasting. I just went through my audible catalog and I’ve listened to 34 audiobooks in 18 months! That’s almost two books a month! I still read on my kindle and traditional books but not as much.

I’m starting a reading challenge in May. I’ve never done a challenge before but it seems interesting. Horror MAYhem is a four week challenge with weekly themes and all stories should be under 250 pages. Week one is “Local Horror” (I’ve picked up a book called Haunted Ozarks, a short story collection of stories sat in and around the Ozarks). Week two is Movie week, a book based on a movie, book turned into a movie or a book with film as the setting (ie Grady Hendrix’s Final Girl Support Group, already read this so I can’t again). Week three is classic (I’m considering anything written before I was born as classic lol). And week four is contemporary horror (anything written post 2000). Join me if you’re interested.

The 9 books that I’ve either read or listened to on Audible this year so far! I’m averaging a little over 2 per month. My goal was to read more this year. I’m not gonna rate them but favorite was probably Trespasser by Paul Doiron but very close second would be The Handmaid’s Tale (but it was hella depressing) least favorite by far was All Good People Here.

If you couldn’t guess, my preferred genres are dystopian future or mystery.

Currently reading a sci-fi western short story collection. Gunfight on Europa Station.

It’s about that time again. Been prepping for next month. Preptober is well underway prepping for in November.

Off work, sitting at the computer, listening to some Jazz and working on my next crime novel while watching the rain drip in front of the window. Yeah I’m embracing the cliche!

Been back in the novel seat this week. Been writing comic scripts for a few years and have several stockpiled so now I’m back in the groove for novel. Honestly I’ve missed it.
