We do not give away print or digital copies, if this is unacceptable then do think before you submit. Along with most print on demand magazines the price per issue is much higher due to supply
and demand. We welcome submissions from photographers, ALL models, make-up artists and designers under the following guidelines:
1. Images can be in color or black & white and of a high resolution PNG or jpeg (minimum 300ppi with at least 2500px on the longest side 18mpx camera highly preferred professional quality preferred). Our page dimension is 8.5x11" or 17x11" for horizontal images -try to stay within these dimensions PLEASE - cropping, and some editing may occur unless otherwise specified. WE PREFER IMAGES BE UNPUBLISHED IF YOU PLAN TO SUBMIT TO OTHER MAGAZINES LET US KNOW THIS MAY RESULT IN YOUR CONTENT BEING PULLED OR NOT BEING CHOSEN. PLEASE DO NOT submit lo-res images or PDFs. We need to see your images in the highest resolution possible to assess their quality for printing. Low resolution images simply re-sized will result in poor quality and will NOT be accepted. When you submit please include ALL credits bio, backstory, sponsors and links in the 1ST message! It makes it easiest! Please do NOT submit hundreds of images and asking World Of Goth to 'take our pick' make sure all text is proof read to avoid errors.
2. How many of your images are placed depends on the quality and variety of your submission. Models, photographers and designers can submit but we will need the photographers permission. We need 1-10 images and most of them should be in the portrait or vertical format if possible. Horizontal or landscape images are welcome but the main focus can NOT be center - central parts of the image are hidden in the book binding. We prefer variety in your submission - so not endless images of the same model in the same outfit - we prefer at least 2 different outfits and looks, locations, backgrounds etc. We will be looking for exceptional quality and post-processing, especially skin and makeup attention to detail. We are looking for something truly goth and special with editing or the overall composition, not simply point and shoot. Common reasons for rejecting a submission are: images are not goth, gothic, poor skin, poor editing, off-focus, cheap looking lingerie or attire, amateur hair and make-up and most of all awkward poses. Cover images are chosen from the very best submissions. We run split covers - 2 different covers: one front cover artist or feature model and one artist or album cover on the back- this way we feel we can give unknown (but exceptional) photographers and models a chance to grace our cover! Our criteria for a cover is VERY specific, and we typically use themes with each magazine being different from the next. We prefer clear images that are full length full body, half body or face and shoulders, with a very minimal background, and EXCEPTIONAL post processing, imperfections will be magnified on the cover and will be rejected. We love very DARK & GOTH graphic and unusual visual images and fantasy landscapes etc that are very eye-catching with professional quality hair and make-up. Studio shot images are preferable to location shots as the background is relatively uncluttered. We also accept single image submissions for our back page 'SOLO' section - these must be in a vertical or 'portrait' format.
3. We are looking for very creative, sensual, beautiful, saucy, sexy, controversial, professionally quality images of goth models, bands, artists, members relevant to culture, graveyards, cemeteries, gothic architecture, art, fashion, makeup. Must be goth or gothic. Not just alternative, tatoo, pin up, etc. We take very limited "horns" headpiece photos, skull face paint, masquerade, pastel, etc bc we have seen these looks played out and are looking for fresh concepts. They may incorporate gothic, goth, deathrock, romantic, occult, religious themes, esoteric, fe**sh, controversial, horror, historic, gothabilly, lo**ta, nu goth, pin-up, fantasy, dark or gothic, goth cosplay, vintage, lingerie, fashion, bo***ir and and implied nudity and artistic nudity allowed and featured regularly. Images should be your best and only the highest quality will be considered. Please look through our site for examples of images we have previously published. Don't waste our time.
4. Your initial submission MUST be high resolution unwatermarked & sent via email, google drive or Dropbox. PLEASE don't send lo-res PDF's or jpgs, this makes it impossible for us to review the potential print quality of your images before we print them! At risk of us all looking bad and losing money. We will inform you of our decision within 1 week from your submission and if successful we will email you asking for any remaining info, inform you of an interview to be conducted etc and send a release form. WRITTEN ARTICLE SUBMISSION Again, these are not very heavily featured but we ALWAYS consider a WELL-written articles that fit with our preferred style. For a list of topics you may email us an inquiry. Professional photos and experience preferred but NOT required. NO SELFIES. MUST BE GOTH
Please be patient, we always book magazines 6 months out-ahead of schedule. So that means if you submit today expect to be in the magazine issue 6 mths out from the current month's issue. We are very busy editing, marketing, messaging, promoting and taking submissions, as well as writing and reviewing, please keep this in mind! Help spread the World Of Goth word and colonize our dark empire! Do you know goth bands/artists/models? Then by all means let them know about World Of Goth! DO NOT submit the same picture more than once! Keep it goth! We reserve the right to deny or REFUSE submissions & change our mind or withdraw your submission for any reason at anytime (will notify), remove posts and photos from World Of Goth, share and edit ALL submissions (unless otherwise specified), use submissions on any and all of our page, sites, email, subscription, newsletter, ads, social media, or in collaboration with our partners, and sponsors & radio station partners. We take models as World Of Goth Reps and reserve the right to terminate your contract at anytime for any reason. BY SUBMITTING YOU ARE AGREEING THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE TO THIS VOLUNTARY POLICY AGREEMENT.

We DO accept other genres of underground music: darkwave, deathrock, gothic rock, industrial, goth metal, synth, new wave, cold wave, ebm, cyberpunk, punk, post punk, goth pop, outrun, outlaw country, dark folk, true goth and doom metal, Scandinavian metal, glam etc....but magazine space for non goth acts is very limited you will be competing with some of the most elite goth bands and artists worldwide! Goths always get preference! We have featured some big name bands: from OUT OF LINE MUSIC etc. We have featured work by world famous photographers such as David Levine & Justice Howard to name a few!
