Just another day in Ventura California.
I spent the good part of a month in this great little beachside town. It was May of 2022.
Also know for its surfing, it’s just north of Malibu, I even tried that.
Ventura has closed 10 blocks of Main Street to cars. What a great atmosphere! Everyday as I walked the street(s) there were many options for outside dinning, drinking, Live music with some bands in parking in lots.
This band stopped me in my tracks. I took a seat and listened for about a half hour. Debbie Davies is introduced as “A Special appearance by a lady who lives just down the road in LA”
Debbie solos at 3 minutes, sorry about the bass in her face!

Mr.Paley got his start in the late ‘60s as leader of the Sidewinders a Boston-based power-pop band which included Billy Squire on guitar and opened for Boston and other popular rock bands.
With his brother Jonathan he created the pop duo the Paley Brothers that toured with the heart throb Shaun Cassidy.

“Influenced by studio wizards like Phil Spector, Mr. Paley also produced songs for numerous performers, including Debbie Harry, K.D. Lang, NRBQ, Little Richard and Brenda Lee. In the 1980s, he began to produce for Seymour Stein, the visionary label chief of Sire Records”.

Musician, singer, songwriter, producer and more, he collaborated with Madonna and a raft of other artists and helped resuscitate the career of the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson.
