Love Teamah visits our podcast to discuss a cancer awareness walk and a fundraiser for a breast cancer survivor. The "Together We Can Beat Cancer" fundraiser will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at Life Chapel International Church, 821 Arthur Ave. in Des Moines. The fundraiser benefits Ruth Gayflor, a mother who is battling breast cancer. T-shirts will be sold for $30. Baked goods will be available for sale. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Also happening on SATURDAY, Oct. 28 — Breast Cancer Run & Awareness Walk at 10 a.m. - Noon at Gray's Lake in Des Moines.

Quite frankly, solving it, it doesn't lie within us. White people have to look internally and figure out how they use every, how they exploit every system possibly to discriminate and hate other people. The source of the problem is within them, it's within their communities.

Supporting our local black artist. What an impactful art show! showcased a "Field of Dreams: Out the Mud (Redux)." The monthlong show, which features one-of-a-kind, hand-embellished print reproductions of works in "Out the Mud," will open on June 16 with a free public reception at 2411 Grand Ave. from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition closes on July 15. .stahl
