Library card holders can now get free ballet tickets!

BIG NEWS for Iowa library lovers and arts enthusiasts!

Ballet Des Moines has teamed up with the Iowa Library Association and Des Moines Public Library to make the arts more accessible than ever! Starting this season, any Iowan (age 7+) with a public library card (or Des Moines Public Schools students (grades 7–12) with a student ID) can receive a complimentary ticket to each of Ballet Des Moines’ stunning productions in the 2025–26 season!

Here’s what’s on stage:
🎄 The Nutcracker – Dec. 11–14, Hoyt Sherman Place
🎶 Nothing Holds Still – Feb. 27 & 28, Hoyt Sherman Place
👑 Cinderella – May 16 & 17, Des Moines Civic Center

Just show your library card or student ID at the venue’s box office during the ticket window (for The Nutcracker, that’s Oct. 27–Dec. 5) and select your seat. It’s that simple! This collaboration celebrates how libraries and the arts both bring people together, spark imagination, and build vibrant communities.

Ashley here. Last Saturday I attended the Iowa State football game and was ecstatic when Lin Manuel Miranda showed up on the jumbotron during halftime. Not only do I love musicals and the Cyclones, I also love bands. Enjoy this amazing Hamilton performance by the ISU Cyclone Marching Band!
