This is where I share fun photos and ways for us to brighten the world together! I published my very own book (with my mom’s help) called “Chipper’s Friends: The Heartwarming Story of an Imperfect Dog.” It’s a funny, inspiring story about my life as a therapy dog dropout. It teaches that you don’t have to be perfect to make a difference! I’m sure it will leave a paw print on your heart.
Hi, I’m Chipper! I am a girl dog, which you can probably tell from my pink bandana. My dad named me Chipper because most people use the word “happy” to describe me. I am happy—even though I had a rough start in life. I grew up as a stray pup with no one to love me until the Colorado Puppy Rescue saved me. Now I live in Bailey with my dad (a Minnesota Vikings fan), my mom (an asthmatic with webbed toes), and my sister (a husky mix with a fear of toddlers). My hobbies include Squirrel Surveillance, helping my mom foster puppies, playing with my Squeaker the Squirrel toy, and sticking my butt up in the air. I have Facebook fans in 75 countries! I've also been featured on CBS News Denver, Woman's World Magazine, American Dog Magazine, Denver Dog Magazine, Mile High Dog Magazine, etc. My mom began training me to be a therapy dog as soon as she adopted me. I made valentines for my friends at the nursing home. I delivered little Christmas gifts to my friends at the teen homeless shelter. I wore pink butterfly wings to cheer up my friends in pediatric hospice. Things were going great until I reached adulthood and started barking at little old ladies. My mom pulled me out of the therapy dog program, and I was feeling like a four-legged failure until she reminded me that when one doggy door closes, another one opens. She said I could still make a difference even though I wasn’t perfect, and that’s when I got the idea to write my autobiDOGraphy, “Chipper’s Friends: The Heartwarming Story of an Imperfect Dog.” Each month I donate a portion of my profits to charities that help animals and/or children (see the Book Specials and Chipper Gives sections of my website). I hope my story makes you laugh and inspires you to brighten your corner of the world!
