Tournament broadcast schedule for this week.
Tomorrow Thursday I will go to Monahans to cover two boys games.
Friday I will go to Lubbock to do the girls and
Saturday I will head back to Lubbock to cover the girls. Hope everyone had a very marry Christmas. District play will resume January 2 at Muleshore.

Our next basketball broadcast will be November 28 when the Fillies and Mustangs play at Seagraves. Fillies start time 6:15 Mustangs after that. Then the DC Shootout weekend.

What a ride it was to cover the fillies this year. These girls left it all out there each and every time. So proud of each one of them and thank you to our seniors for what they gave to our program. Thank you to our great coaches for guiding them. So proud of you girls. 39-8 and district champs regional tournament qualifiers.

We got DENIED video rights to the regional tournament but we will still do YouTube broadcasts as well as radio. The camera will just be on me for the match. Stinks but that’s the way it goes sometime.

#6 Fillie will face #9 Peaster in the Regional Semifinal Friday 6:00 at Lubbock Cooper High school. Paperwork has been submitted. Regardless we will have YouTube if not on the floor it will be on us and also Kikz 1250 am.

A Humble Legend

Coach Megan David has been at Denver City for 37 years and in those years, she has produced some of the best Volleyball teams and built a winning tradition. Coach David came to Denver City in 1986 and what a blessing she has been not only to our athletic program but to our community. Before coming to Denver City Coach David was a graduate of Monahans High School and was a Texas Tech alumni on the Volleyball team at Tech. She also sits 7th all-time in blocks at Texas Tech with 339. Coach David is the humblest person I know. She is a legend and has built a legacy and a standard for winning but she will not take you seriously if you call her one, but she is. Coach David will give all the credit in the world to her players through the years and she has played a major role in developing young woman into outstanding Volleyball players but most importantly she makes outstanding young woman of the world.

In her career she has won 708 matches as the coach of our Fillies and has led them to 25 District Titles, 12 Reginal Tournaments and 2 State Tournaments. With her 708 wins Coach David is the 29th all-time winningest coach in Texas High School Volleyball History. This year has been no exception to how great of a team she has on the court year in and year out. The Fillies are 36-6 and District Champions and with a group that is as talented as any to come through here they have their eyes set on the Curtis Caldwell Center in Garland for another State Tournament Birth. Regardless of what happens we are proud of our Fillies and give thanks to a true Legend and Coach Magen David for reaching 700 wins and thank you for all you have done for our school and our community all these years. Congratulations Coach David on getting 700 wins.
