I will be displaying ànd have for sale prints and original art, mugs, puzzles, and tote bags at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timomium Maryland at the State fairgrounds April 2nd & 3rd. I picked up the prints of the 4014 today and matted the first one.

4014 almost done. I just have a couple nights more to do.

Thinking of offering as a limited addition signed and numbered print. Full size is 22 X10 inches. No more than 100 prints. Possibly only 50 prints. I'll list them on my website as limited additions. Some I may even offer pre matted. That's means it may take a little longer to be shipped as I'll have to have them printed and shipped to me, sign and number, and matt then ship out to the buyer. Let me know if you would like one.

I haven't set a price point yet as I don't know the printing çost yet.

This piece, Dragonsgate Spirits, was created as the cover of the second book in the Dragonsgate book series by author James Maxey. James is a wonderful fantasy/Sci-Fi writer. His incredible imagination speaks to me in many ways and inspires me to define my visual imagery that melds our collaborative creativity. James only had a few stipulations for this painting. That the dragon be front and center, that it have a dark foreboding background and that the dragon have very intense eyes.
This piece began as a rough pencil sketch. After the general composition was satisfactory the sketch was scanned into a computer and detail and color were added digitally. I bring aspects of hand rendered work into my digital work. This is very similar to traditional painting technics in which I layer transparent glazes, building form and luminosity into the piece. The computer allows me to try new techniques and redo portions without losing previous work. Therefore I can shift things around and always revert to my previous work if the results are less than anticipated.
I plan to make and post a video presentation about how I produce digital artwork in the future. Stay tuned….
