Serious question. Why do we continue to listen to people who are the model of consistency when it comes to being wrong? Having a bad take once in a while, that happens. But go back and watch the tape on Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless, and even Stephen A. Smith. They are people who love to give their opinions as if it is expertise. The fact of the matter is they all got played? Because all the Texans needed was for someone to believe the garbage said about CJ Stroud, so that he would fall to them… and it worked.

As if being picked by the legit #2 team in the draft, the Houston Texans, isn't adverse enough, all pre-draft narratives were against Stroud.

Even before being drafted, skepticism surrounded CJ as a player and his mechanics. People even went as far as to call him a "Poor man's Jared Goff" at his best. And his leadership wasn't really a known strength of his.

On top of that, being an OSU product, skeptics believed that just like any other Ohio State QB, he will fail at the next level.

And the pool of doubt just continued to be filled as it was publicized that he failed the S2, a test that assesses a quarterback's aptitude, in the preseason.

However, in retrospect, Stroud has managed to completely flip the script in his first year:

4,108 passing yards

23 passing touchdowns

10-7 record

Playoff berth
..And he has already lead the Texans to their first playoff appearance since 2019.

Not bad for a "Poor man's Jared Goff." 🤷‍♂️

The comeback attempt by the fell short and overtime as they lose 119–124 to the . Alperen Sengun was scoreless at halftime. He ended the game with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, and was brilliant in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, it will still count as a loss. Next up is a Back To Back at Detroit then at Boston.

Lost in the Texans celebration last night.. the survived a 48 point game by Giannis Antetokounmpo and defeated the 112-108 on the second night of a back to back for the Rockets! Alperen Sengun had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Uncle Jeff Green provided 16 points off the bench in 34 minutes. Cam Whitmire 12 points in 12 minutes. Great win for the Rockets and a great Saturday in Houston Sports Nation!
