Congratulations to my dear friend Laura Riley on the release of her new book, A Billionaire's Promise. This is book 2 in her billionaire series, The Calloways. I really enjoyed this book, and I think it's her best book yet.

When class ends, I pack up my iPad and stylus, slip them into my backpack, and head to my next class for the day, which is chemistry. On the way, I stick my earbuds in and select one of my favorite playlists. She won’t shut up, and I need a distraction. Jason tries to initiate conversation as he walks me to my next class, but I don’t feel like talking. I can’t help thinking maybe she’s right about me and it is all just wishful thinking on my part.

“How’s Dominic holding up?” she asks as she glances across the room at my husband, who’s currently hanging out with the guys at the bar. My dad’s handing out beers and regaling them with stories about when he was a firefighter.
I can’t hear what they’re saying, but they sure are laughing a lot, and based on Dominic’s expression, I suspect it’s at his expense. They’re probably giving him parenting advice, like tips on changing diapers.
I smile as I take another sip. “He’s doing as well as can be expected. If I so much as flinch, he goes on red alert.”
