KDVS is:

* non-commercial = you'll never hear ads, only sponsorships and PSAs from local organizations

* non-profit = any extra money we make goes back into next year's budget

* student/volunteer-run = none of our DJs get paid, and only a handful of student managers get paid a tiny stipend; we do it for the love of radio!

* educational = it's in our mission statement to play new and undergroun

d music and cover under-represented topics to educate both our DJs and our listeners, avoiding artists who are already in the mainstream

* freeform = besides the mainstream rule, DJs have the freedom to play whatever artist, whatever genre, whatever! (within FCC guidelines of course)

* college/community = we're licensed to UC Davis, but you don't have to be a student to volunteer; everyone from the community is welcome

* terrestrial/internet = with a 9,200-watt tower, we broadcast all over Davis and Sacramento, and from Fairfield to the foothills; worldwide online!

KDVS is recruiting incoming DJs and members of the community that want to learn how to get involved with KDVS ❤️You could host your own show on 90.3 FM or you could make an impact at any one of our wonderful departments! If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity… there’s one right here!!! 🤓

Join us at the Memorial Union Flagpole @ 7 pm on January 8th and 9th to learn more about just what KDVS does and offers for the community! 📻👥

For anyone who would like to give their work a chance to be featured in KDVS merch… this is your opportunity! 🎨👕📻

KDVS is accepting submissions for designs that can be used for anything, ranging from a T-shirt, a sticker, and more! Your creations will be published on KDVS merch and/or be used for upcoming fundraisers! 💸🎨📸

🚨Deadline for submissions: FRIDAY, JANUARY 17th🚨

Important details:
⭐️ The design must include “KDVS”, “Davis”, and “90.3 FM”
⭐️ The design must be a high quality file (.png strongly recommended)
⭐️ Please specify if you have specific intentions for the use of your design, and keep in mind that it may be used in an unintended format (like a T-shirt design could be used as a sticker design)

Rodeo Rampage was an UNFORGETTABLE and AMAZING night thanks to the free waffles, our rockin’ bands, and a SKATE RAMP that served as a stage!?!??!! 🛹🧇🤘

First Name Basis, Carport, Mastoids, and Moon Wave put on a stellar show last week! 🌟 None of it is possible without our events staff and spectacular volunteers! We also couldn’t do it without our beautiful community that comes together at our events to make a fun, friendly, and overall SUPER COOL CROWD OF PEOPLE ❤️💫

Inner Nature | Live in Studio A ✨Join us for another electrifying LISA session🕺 ⭐️ @innernature.wav, FKA Fashionista Boyfriend, is the creation of Sacramento-based Casey Groat. Originating as a simple hobby of crafting sounds on a computer, the project has evolved, focusing on themes of love, loss, and meaningful songwriting enhanced by experimental sampling. Influenced by artists like Washed Out, Toro Y Moi, Small Black, and Neon Indian, Inner Nature’s sound is rich and introspective. The live act consists of a three-piece band featuring Casey, Rob Habel of Soft Palace and Petaluma, and James Murphy from Ancient Astronaut and Saint Solitaire.
