From Cyrus who was chosen one winner from 2019 …

In 2019, I was given the chance by Sonny Onoo and Kaz Hayashi to try out for chance in Japan. Upon the tryout, I was selected as one of the “Chosen Ones” to go for two weeks to train with Kaz Hayashi. After getting to do that, I was chosen to come back with all expenses paid and live in the dojo for one month and wrestle for Kaz’s promotion.

I have now been back to Japan eight times and currently wrestle for All Japan Pro Wrestling. If you are serious about wanting to wrestle in Japan, I strongly suggest that you tryout. You never know what opportunities may come. And remember this: all it takes is being in the right place at the right time for the right people to see you. So don’t look back at “coulda shoulda woulda.” It’s better to go for it rather than not to have tried at all. You never know what can happen if you don’t apply and believe in yourself!!

Dear USA “Chosen One” Tryout member,

Welcome and Thank you for signing up for “Chosen One Tryout”. We will be looking for performers with positive potential that can best benefit from training in Japanese Dojo environment with opportunities to wrestle for the promotion in Japan.
Here are a few recommendations to help prepare for the upcoming Tryouts.

* Conditioning: The last thing you want is being out of conditioning and unable to perform the required exercises.
* Appearance: Please bring your “Work” performance attire photograph, you will be able to use normal workout clothes doing the tryout.
* Basic Knowledge: We will be expecting that you have basic knowledge and skills of pro wrestling.
* Professional attitude: The Instructor(s) will be evaluating your ability to take instructions and your evaluating your reactions.
* Interview: You will be asked a variety of questions, including ability to travel and your future goals.
* Travel Documents: Be sure to have your updated passport (If not, start your process immediately!)
* Receipt: Be sure to bring a printed receipt of your form of tryout payment.
