Komodo Islands Scuba Diving Day 🤿🇮🇩
This was the best diving day of my life and it’s only $156 (2.5m IDR).
Out of Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia, the live aboard boat takes you between the Komodo Islands with 3 pit stops at the best dive sites.
This is a must during your Indonesia trip.
Here are the 3 dive sites we visited:
🔹Sebayur Kecil (healthy and active reef)
🔹Siaba Besar (turtle heaven)
🔹Taka Makassar (manta rays and reef sharks)
Enjoy! đź’™#usareels #reelsviralfb #trevtravels #foryoupagereels
Prambanan Temple 🕉️
Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia 🇮🇩
Welcome to the 2nd largest Hindu temple in all of Southeast Asia. Built in the 9th century, it is second only to Cambodia’s Angkor Wat.
Its tall and pointed architecture distinguishes itself from the the surrounding lush grass field.
Only a 35 minute drive from the center of Yogyakarta, it’s a must while visiting the area. It costs a hefty $25 USD to enter, but it’s worth it if you take your time and explore the entirety of the temple. Student discounts are available for those who apply.
I spent 3+ hours here and fell in love with the attention to detail in the construction of each and every structure in the compound. The sculptures and carvings fascinated me and of course I did some backflips in the perfectly maintained grass field.
Don’t skip Yogyakarta during your Indonesian travels and definitely don’t skip this stop while you’re there.

Mt. Rinjani, Lombok, Indonesia This tour is a must during your Indonesian travels. The 3,726m volcano is gorgeous and the views from the top are unbeatable.
After you summit for sunrise, you trek down to the crater lake and enjoy the nearby hot spring waterfall.
You then trek back up to the crater rim to enjoy a final sunset with volcano views.
The final day, you descend do the bottom.
Porters carry all of the equipment so your bags are light. They also prepare you 3 delicious meals per day.
The trek is very difficult and the peak is very cold and windy, so please plan accordingly.

Mt. Rinjani, Lombok, Indonesia Only 5 hours from Bali by fast boat, you need to add Lombok to your travel itinerary for Indonesia. This was one of my favorite experiences ever.
I was struggling for my life to make it to the top with proper equipment and a very light backpack while these porters are doing it with ease and without shoes...

Save this for your next trip to Indonesia Indonesia is so much more than just Bali and it would truly be a shame if you didn't see some of it.
Lombok is very similar to Bali in looks, but it's much 2,999 less touristic and exponentially more authentic. I enjoyed Lombok much more than Bali.
Here are my favorite waterfalls on the island, enjoy!

This was probably the best experience of my trip so far. Whale sharks, Komodo dragons, dolphins, pink beaches, Padar Island viewpoint, snorkeling, beautiful sunsets, amazing food and people, boat parties, etc.
I don't know what else I could ask for.
The tour leaves from Bagsal Harbor, Lombok. This is the same place you are dropped off by the fast boat from Bali, so it's super convenient.
You first take a bus to the east coast of Lombok, then you hop on the boat that you will proceed to live on for the next 4 days as you navigate to Labuan Bajo, Flores.
You make many stops along the way and they're all life-changing.

The best tour in the world.
I've been traveling the world for over a year now and this is still the best experience of my life.
On this tour, you spend 4 days/3 nights on a boat with 15-20 other travelers exploring the islands between Lombok and Flores, Indonesia
There are many stops and activities along the way including swimming with whale sharks, hanging out with Komodo Dragons, frolicking on pink beaches, admiring the views of Padar Island, etc. 3 delicious meals per day are included and the crew is incredibly helpful and and professional.
The tour leaves from Bangsal Harbor, Lombok and ends in Labuan Bajo, Flores. There is an airport in Labuan Bajo from which you can easily and affordably fly back to Bali. You could easily add this to your Bali or Indonesia itinerary and I highly recommend you do.

Komodo National Park, Indonesia Behold the only few islands in the world where Komodo Dragons exist.
As a child, I was obsessed with these creatures. I'd go to every book store and library I could just to find more information about them. My obsession faded a bit, but the strong desire to experience them in real life never left.
On the Komodo boat tour from Lombok to Flores, we made a stop to hang out with them for a couple hours and it was amazing.
It's impossible to understand just how large and fascinating they are without seeing them in person.
My childhood dream came true

Air Terjun Tumpak Sewu, Java, Indonesia
The most impressive waterfall I've seen to this day is truly life changing and a must while visiting Indonesia.
Loosely translated to "thousand waterfalls" the 120m tall semicircular curtain of waterfalls immerses you into a euphoric state upon entry. The feeling of belittlement it provokes is humbling and gives you a new level of appreciation for mother nature and her creations.
Please go beneath the waterfall and feel it's strength, don't just take photos from 200m away and call it good.
This masterpiece deserves to be experienced, not just looked at.
I had to drive 3hrs one way from Malang in the pouring rain, which was not ideal, but you can easily just book an affordable tour from Bali and save yourself the hassle. You can also add Mt. Ijen and/ or Mt. Bromo to a tour package if you want to see it all.

Jodipan "Rainbow" Village
Malang, Java, Indonesia
A must while traveling East Java.
Malang is only a 3hr drive from Surabaya, East Java's biggest city and international airport.
It's a lovely city to explore and this village is particularly vibrant.
The famous Mt. Bromo Volcano and Tumpak Sewu Waterfall are only 3hr drives from the city center so it's convenient hub to visit these mandatory attractions.
I spent a little over an hour in the village, but much more time could be spent interacting with locals, asking questions about the history of the village, and collecting aesthetic photos and videos.

We found a giant Manta Ray
Scuba Diving in the Komodo Islands out of Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia was incredible and is a must during your Indonesia trip.
Here are the 3 dive sites we visited:

I paid $157 (2.5m IDR) to spend the day on a live aboard boat and do these 3 dives and it was more than worth every penny.
