EACH SMS IS ANOTHER SUCCESS!

This customer called me because she needed to find new customers and she wanted to use social media to do so.
But she had no idea where to start with.
Yes, digital marketing can be overwhelming! You already have to create, sell, invoice, ship and now, on top of it, you have to blog, post stories, engage on all these media? Where to start?

I listened to her goals, analyzed what she had done, gave her tips to optimize her different profiles, what social media to activate and how to organize her communication.
3 weeks later, she has twice more customers than she expected and even has to hire an assistant to help her out!!!! I couldn’t be happier for her!!!

MY TAYLOR IS RICH, SO IS MY CONTENT

Don’t let it go to waste!
When social media started it was all about text and image. A nice image with a filter, a good caption and here you were rocketing.

When I started Sacrebleu, the trend was high on carousels and I embraced it. I’d been told “to be successful post 1 carousel per day for 90 days” ... well I tried, but couldn’t keep up... And now the trend is changing toward reels.

Yet I decided to try different type of content and see what my audience was reacting the most to. And to my surprise, the carousels still are establishing my authority but animated gifs (that take me 5 min to create) are the engagement generator!

You work hard on a great quote, send it with a nice email and ..... 🦗

First, how much have you been waiting for his answer? 10, 20... minutes 😂!
Don’t be impatient! Start by double checking with your prospect to make sure that they received that email.

Don’t worry 😉, whatever the final decision is, trust yourself and your quote. And never lower your price to a point that would be uncomfortable to you!

25 NEWSLETTERS...

That’s the number of newsletters that I received on Sunday! IN ONE DAY!!!
That’s a lot...

But I want to say, it’s my own fault, I registered to all these free invitations, free webinars, free ebooks, free masterclass and I enjoyed (most of) them!
Do I complain for receiving these newsletter? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

And I have the freedom to unsubscribe very easily. I actually I had someone downloading my free Instagram diagnostic and unsubscribing right after... I found it hard 😔 but that the game 🤷‍♀️!

I hear that newsletter are pollution, that nobody reads it anymore... maybe, but what will happen if your Instagram or Facebook account get hacked or shut down? Your mailing list is your gem, and you should work on growing it.

But you have to be careful with the content you put in your emails. Just like your posts have to get some value, for your followers to stay engaged, your emails should not be just a way to sell, you must bring some value and interest for your audience, to make them want to open your future newsletter!

REUSE CONTENT, REDUCE STRESS, RECYCLE IDEAS

Posting on different social media should means adapting the media that you are using... not the content!

Bare with me, you are trying to reach maybe different audiences and these audiences do not react to the same support. Some will prefer short videos like TikTok and other will go for short text like Twitter. Then follow my tip.

Start from a platform (I like to start from my blog) and build up new contents from that blog.
Create 3 pins for Pinterest and 2 videos for YouTube.
Make a teaser of the YouTube and create a TikTok video, a reel for Instagram and a short version for Facebook.
Then create some posts for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

I am not telling you to create all these contents to all these platforms. You’d better focus on where your audience is.
I just want to show you how you should not overwhelm yourself with content creation and focus on how to repurpose your ideas.

DEAR YOUNG SONIA...

Wow that’s harder than I thought. I honestly made some mistakes, but who knows what would have happened if I didn’t make it?
If I didn’t forget to renew my working permit in time, I would never be here today, writing this post and building Sacrebleu Marketing.

I know that I will give some advices to my kids, because we always want to give some. And I hope that they will be able to listen or not to it, as I did with my parents advices.
I always fought HARD for what I thought was the right thing for me.
I wanted to do a business school and learn marketing to be able to be a Marketing Manager in Japan. Well I didn’t fell too far 😆, I leaved in Japan and I have been a marketing manager in Canada!

What I would tell the young me: be less jealous of the others and believe more in yourself.
And you, what would you tell your younger self?

People want to connect with you. They want to know the person behind the company.
Charismatic leaders (such as GAFAS CEO) have understood and now it’s your turn!

Whether it’s on YouTube, TikTok, IGTV, Reels or stories... you can’t escape it!

So here are a few reminders:
- nobody was perfect at the beginning
- you’ll most probably the harder to judge yourself
- start with short format videos
- talk about things that you know
- try to have 🤩 fun!

That’s the time we spend on our phone in the US per day according to Hootsuite 2020. And we can bet these numbers will have increased in 2020...

Have you seen the social dilemma on Netflix? It’s scarry!

But honestly, without social media a lot of small businesses would not be able to reach out to such a large audience. Inbound marketing has been so powerful that you don’t need millions in ads anymore to get to your future customers. (Even though the social media still encourage you to invest in ads of course).

As much as we have to be aware of our own screen time consumption (and our kids too) we can be thankful for all the opportunities that it’s offer.

ME, MY OFFER, MY PRODUCTS, repeat

When you’re creating content, it’s very tempting to talk about your products and your offers. But if you keep talking about that, and only that, it’s going to start the annoying and boring for your audience.

Instead, ask yourself (and your audience) what they want to hear and read about. You can create an online questionnaire (with google drive or ), you can ask them in story or in comments. Once you know what they struggle with or what their needs are, it will be easy to communicate with them and offer them content adapted to their needs.

For example, instead of presenting your new bracelet, explain how you chose the perles, what is the symbole of the accessories, where did you source your products and what is it going to bring to your customer? It could be simple as being elegant to rejuvinating your energy.

A HAPPY CUSTOMER WILL PRAISE YOU TO 3 PEOPLE,
AN UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WILL SHARE IT WITH 10 PEOPLE...

Frustrating but true. We have a hard time gathering these positives ratings or feedbacks and then, out of the blue comes Mrs Angryman !
He furiously rate you 1 star on Google My Business, leaves comments on all your social média accounts.... a nightmare!
(But he would never take his phone to rate you a good 5 stars... 😢)

Here are some tips to contain this wild spirit:
- stay calm. You will need some energy and replying in an upset tone will not help...
- answer. Do not leave a complain ignored. It will just make him wants to post some other places.
- take him out of the visible parts of your media. Take him backstage (DM, MP, phone) to avoid a back and force communication on your media.
- find a compromise. Even though you think that you are right, tell him that he is. Give him that victory and then try to find something to appease him (a voucher, a replacement...)

49% of consumers claim that they depend on influencer recommendations on social media to inform their purchasing decision (Fourcommunications, 2018)

I have to say, that number surprised me at 1st. But then let’s face the truth today small influencers have a very engaged audience. Their audience trust them and react to what they post.

If you are creating or offering products, I highly recommend you to find the influencers of your niche and work with them on a deal for them to give you a shout out!
Invite influencers I don’t necessarily mean big 4 million followers accounts, it could just as well be accounts that have a few thousand followers, as long as they are talking to your target audience.

WHAT WAS YOUR GOAL FOR 2020?

My goal was to get my working permit back and to go back to my 9-5 job. Yep, I won’t lie, I loved my job and the company I worked for... but it took a year to get my working permit back and here I am now, founder of Sacrebleu Marketing and already making benefits!

Your goals can change over the time and depending on what surrounds you. You are not always in control of your destiny. Everyone with a running business, might have had to reconsider their goals because of Covid. But what’s important is to have goals and to reestimate them on a regular basis.

Middle of the year my goals became: make enough to pay all the investments that I made for Sacrebleu and I did. Now my goal for next year: make as much money as when I was employed (and I had a good salary 😉). Let see how this one go!

AN ACCOUNT POSTED 3 OF MY POSTS ON HIS FEED

And not just 1 but 4 posts! Without mentioning my account, without telling me, without even following me! And this account, not only did they share my post but they also are used some of another account...

A part of me has been very flattered I have to admit. To think that my carousels can be so appealing that someone want to share them! But what upsets me is that they didn’t even mention me or tag me or tagged me (even though my picture was on the last slide of the carousel)...

I contacted them, and told him that if they could reuse my post but they have to tag me... well they never answered, and I deleted all my posts (I mean all the posts that they stole me)

I won’t spend the day on that, let’s move on, but I just want to remind everybody that it’s OK to share as long as you do not take ownership of that share and that you make the effort of mentioning the person who actually use their brain to come up with that content!

80% OF THE PEOPLE ON LINKEDIN ARE POTENTIAL DECISION MAKERS.

What do I mean by that? A lot of people still come to your LinkedIn I was just a place where you put your resume but LinkedIn is not way more than that. You have stories you have posts and interaction and engagement!

And if your business goes toward B2B then you should integrate LinkedIn as part of your marketing strategy.

If you are creating some handmade or personalized gifts, remember that all those companies have to make gifts for their customers or their employers at the end of the year.

And among your connections you might have potential businesses or companies that you could make business with.

ALL ADVICES ARE NOT GOOD TO TAKE... OR GIVE !

When I started my career, I was finishing that internship in marketing for this big company in Paris and they were offering me a position... but... against all advices... I declined the offer to offer to take a sales position in the middle of nowhere in France! But I NEVER regretted it! Because I learned a lot and because that was MY decision!

Along my life I got a lot of advices and a lot I didn’t listen at! I’m hard to convince 😝

When you are an entrepreneur, it’s important to listen but I think it’s just as important to take ownership of your decisions, and for that you need to know how to NOT listen to your surroundings advices!
