A client I’ve worked with in the past asked me to bid on a new project but they decided I was outside of their budget. A month later, they returned and said they went with someone cheaper but after two weeks of not getting what they want, they decided I was worth it after all.

My 2023 wasn’t so bad. I’ve had more national voiceover gigs than I’ve had in my life, I voiced pregame openers for the Vegas Golden Knights during the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals, a large VO project for The Home Depot, several TV shows including a reality show, one for NBC Sports, and Demi Lovato’s Christmas special. And I was booked almost every day.

I asked God if this was the direction I should continue going and I believe I have His answer. (Thank you, Father.)

To my demo clients:

Since I opened Lambert Studios in 2004, I have always provided a free online profile to my demo clients powered by SoundCloud. These days, I'm focusing more on my own voiceover work and less on demo production. And while Lambert Studios demos aren't going away anytime soon, the annual SoundCloud membership fee is an expense that I can no longer justify. Therefore, SoundCloud support will terminate July 2, 2023.

If you have a demo listed on my website and wish to keep an online presence, I recommend obtaining a free SoundCloud membership and uploading your demo files there. You should be able to download your files from your demo page. If you are unable to, please contact me directly and I will be happy to get your files to you.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

I'm often approached with, "I want a cushy job like yours where I get to sit in a booth and read into a microphone all day and make bank."

That's cute. This is how I make bank: I WORK. If I'm not working in the booth, I'm editing, I'm marketing, I'm auditioning, I'm updating my website and demos, I'm bookkeeping, I'm invoicing, I'm keeping in touch with my clients to remind them I'm still here, I'm negotiating contracts, I'm maintaining my computer, I'm investing in new equipment, I'm actively learning new editing techniques. All that is on top of the 40+ years that I've spent honing my acting skills and training my voice. This is how I survived a pandemic without driving for Uber.

I have spent so many years focusing on Lambert Studios and helping others get their careers started that my own voiceover career took a back seat. In 2019, I set out to change that. Below is my progress to date...

2019: I averaged about 1 voiceover booking per week.
2020: I booked a job every 3.76 days and saw approximately 25% revenue growth.
2021: I booked a job every 2.28 days and saw about 27% growth.
2022: I'm currently averaging 1 job every 1.38 days, I've won a Telly Award, AND my revenue has increased a whopping 140% over last year so far. (And my busy season hasn't even started yet!)
