Clyde wants to remind everyone that we will be holding our adoption event today, Saturday, November 23rd from 10-12 at Rumford Pet in Cumberland. He hopes that you’ll come out to see him and his friends on this rainy ☔️ day.

During the adoption event, we will be selling RHR blankets for $20. 100% of the proceeds go back to the dogs 🐕.

After the adoption event, all Rumford Pet Locations will have turkey treat samples from 12-3. Come with your dog or newly adopted friend so they can sample some delicious treats!

“Clyde Henson is currently in RI and looking for a ‘furever’ home!
Meet Clyde, a sweet mixed breed 7 month-old puppy with just the right amount of puppy energy! He’s house and crate trained. Clyde is good with other dogs but does best with slow introductions. Clyde is looking for a calmer home without young children. He would benefit from training so he can continue to grow into a wonderful dog . If you’re ready to add a bundle of joy to your life, Clyde could be the perfect match!

“Appa Henson is currently in RI and looking for a ‘furever’ home!
An adorable doodle puppy who’s looking for a forever home! Regular grooming is required to stay mat-free and healthy. Doodles need consistent daily brushing and grooming every 6-8 weeks, so the family should be prepared to maintain the coat.

As a young pup, a puppy will need patience and positive reinforcement while learning the basics of house training, crate training, and leash walking. This pup would do best in a home that can provide plenty of playtime, socialization, and a structured routine to help them grow into a well-rounded adult dog.

Meet Gordie! 🐾

“Gordie’s a 15 lb chihuahua. He is looking for a home that will respect him for the independent guy he is. He shows his love and affection with tongue licks and tail wags. He would prefer if you showed your affection by saying his name and scratching his head. He does not like cuddling. He does not like too much noise or chaos. He especially doesn’t like when he doesn’t feel in control, and while he really loves humans, they are on average ten times his size, so certainly he feels out of control often.

Gordie has recently competed in the Biggest Loser challenge and he reports in that he is 1 lb away from his goal weight. A portion of his food portions were cut back and replaced with vegetables. He has liked all vegetables that he has tried except the green peppers. These were each meticulously licked to ensure that no gravy from his wet food on the pieces of green pepper and left in his bowl. He has offered that all green peppers in the future can be donated to the starving dogs on his behalf.”

Meet Freya! 🐾

“Freya is intelligent, curious, and very social. She has a warm and welcoming personality and loves both people and dogs. Although Freya loves everyone, her foster mom thinks a dog-savvy home would be ideal.

We recently confirmed that Freya is essentially deaf (she sometimes responds to very high-pitched noise), but that does not slow her down—she’s been busy hiking and making new friends!!!

Freya had FHO surgery in October 2023 and has healed well.

Freya LOVES being included in family activities and is eager to embrace an active lifestyle, explore the outdoors, and enjoy snuggling on the couch and watching Animal Planet.”

Meet Blair! 🐾

“…Blair was found several months back by our friends at All 4s Rescue League in Memphis. She was lying in a ditch, grossly underweight, with a broken front leg and a very severe, infected wound from being struck by a car.

She was taken to the vet, where discussion was had about amputating her broken and wounded leg. It was decided to first try and give her leg a chance to heal. She went to a foster home when she was stable enough to leave the hospital. She was a model patient for her foster mom, and to everybody’s relief, the open wound began to close, and her bone began to heal. She walks fine on her front leg and bears weight on it, but if she picks up speed, she will still limp on it. She needs no ongoing medical care or medications, but a good joint supplement will be helpful to keep any arthritis at bay. She has now been released from vet care and crate confinement and is ready to start her new life!”

Meet Jake! 🐾

“…Despite his past hardships, Jake’s spirit remains unbroken. He exudes boundless affection for everyone he meets and cherishes simple pleasures like walks on a leash, basking in the sun, and snuggling with his foster mom on the couch. He is living with and does fantastic with children.

While Jake gets along well with female dogs, he may be selective around males due to past experiences. He also values his space during mealtime, likely a remnant of his survival instincts from his time on the streets. He needs to be fed away from other pets and children.

Jake’s resilient spirit and unwavering love make him an ideal companion for a forever family ready to embrace him with open arms. He’s eager to embark on the next chapter of his life, bringing joy and companionship wherever he goes.”
