Compass Rose Pro Audio was created by owner/head engineer, Ruben Estrada and his fiance, Amber Rhynes, in January of 2008 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Their passion for audio production, and music in general was what influenced them to open their own studio. Ruben has been a musician for several years and has more than 6 years experience in the art of recording. It wasn't until after he got out of th
e Army in 2008 that Ruben found his true calling as an audio engineer. Ruben then went to work for Casey Lain at the House of Rock in Corpus Christi, Texas as an audio engineer/stage manager. During Ruben’s schooling for Sound Recording Technology under Dr. Paul Bissell at Del Mar College, he met Jaime de la Rosa, also an engineer. Compass Rose joined forces with Jaime, and they decided to run the studio together. The most recent addition to the Compass Rose family are mutual friends and partners, Brandon and Joey Williams, who handle the studio’s finances and public relations. The studio is designed to support local musicians from virtually all genres and backgrounds, and provide them with a professional product at an affordable price. Compass Rose Pro Audio is a home studio, and we plan to keep it that way. We make it one of our primary goals to ensure that musicians are in a comfortable environment, and strive to make their recording experience a positive and memorable one. In short, we are a studio designed to help local musicians cut a demo or record with affordable and flexible payment plans, without the pressure of paying by the hour. We do not have rates listed because we set flat rates after meeting with our artists and discussing what they would like to record.
