It's wild to think this weight loss journey has spanned over 225 pounds now. It's been an unpredictable, difficult & totally rewarding ride!
I'm celebrating victories I never thought possible. Those "before" pictures I used to hide from are now powerful reminders of how far I've come.
But let's keep it real - weight loss isn't a magical fix for body image struggles.
TBH Time: I actually deal with more body dysmorphia now than I did before. The mirror shows a different person & my brain is still slow on catching up. There are so many parts of this transformation that people just don't talk about much. Like how your entire body seems to shift around & continue to do so. How depressing it can be when nothing you own fits after the first few “omg look how big this is on me now” moments. I feel like I'm hidden under baggy clothes far more now. Or that no matter what one does during a rapid massive weight loss there will still be sagging, & extra skin. Especially, if like me you lose almost 200 of those pounds in a 2 year periodm
So here's what I wish someone had told me before I started all this:
No goal weight alone, will make you love yourself. No body is perfect & that's beautiful.
The real victory isn't just in losing the weight - it's in learning to love & accept yourself at every stage, every shape, every size.
Your worth isn't measured by any bathroom scale.
Still working on loving this new version of me, but proud that I got here. I'm learning to love the durings just as much as the before and afters.

I bought this 2nd hand & didn't check it till it was past the sites refund policy but it's @Lancôme and I REALLY don't want it to go to waste. I hate wasting any makeup (or anything really) it clicks fine but nothing comes out. it's never pumped so I doubt it's clogged. does anyone know how to either fix it or get the product out to use ?
I adore this line from lancome so I'd be real sad if it had to go to waste.

This recovery has been more than healing bones - it's been about rebuilding my life, rediscovering my purpose, & reclaiming my narrative.
I've learned, as cliche as it sounds, that true resilience isn't about never failing, never getting knocked down or hurt, but rather always getting back up.
Even when you're shaken. Even when you're bruised.
It's not about being impossible to hurt or never letting it show, or even how long it takes you to get back up.
Strength is never letting it stop you completely.
My journey, like the journeys of so many others, proves that we are not defined by our wounds, but by our refusal to stop.

When a broken molar gives me chipmunk cheeks, I get a little needy, go figure🤷♀️
Roger knows my guilt complex, so after I texted him asking if we could @doordash soft breakfast foods from @sheetz & shared a pic of my 🐿 face, he strategically waited. Turns out, he'd already gotten me early Christmukkah gifts. Instead of immediately showing me, he waited until AFTER I placed the order. He knows I'd likely cancel or limit it, feeling guilty about receiving so much.
He sees my struggle with receiving, always preferring to give, & refuses to let me minimize myself. So, when he came in after I ordered, with a bag of treats, I knew the timing wasn't a coincidence.
He insisted I open them early, revealing a massive box of dark chocolate cherries, fuzzy aloe infused socks, & a light up cup.
After eating, sitting at my desk, feet adorned with cute fuzziness, sipping on a latte, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude. Not just for the gifts, but for a partnership that defies stereotypes.
As a vocal supporter of 4b, I understand how some may see contradictions in posting both pro4b & about my relationship positively.
So here's my perspective:
If someone embodies the values I need in a partner, it'd be wrong to dismiss them solely for being male presenting.
My fiancé understands me deeply & is a genuine ally. He actively creates a space for me to be myself, independent yet supported, autonomous yet cherished. He doesn't use finances as leverage & encourages my dreams.
If we reject people who strive to be good partners just because they present as males, we're undermining the change we seek. Not every ally looks the same, & genuine support shouldn't be narrowly defined.
For the currently tender hearts that struggle with relationship posts, I see you. I've been there. So going forward, I'll use #HelinsHeart on mushy posts to help filter.

When your job requires you to deal with that it makes it more overwhelming.
I am not OK currently. I am taking a bit of a break from the feed. Using something to plan and distribute my posts that way for a while

That moment when you've been unsuccessfully fighting a relapse of your depression & suddenly you find out that your endo is probably back too. I'm genuinely terrified that my access to the healthcare I need will be limited and unavailable to me.
I don't normally post emotional state related posts on here. It's not a diary I know that. But unfortunately I don't have much support on this emotionally in my "irl" dynamics.
I don't have anyone who understands where I'm coming from. I keep getting told I'm freaking out over things that haven't happened yet as I watch the numbers pour in turning my whole state red.
I'm Jewish/Romani, autistic, disabled & qu33r. I shouldn't feel that I need to hide those facts. I shouldn't need to feel like they are things I should just "let out of the conversation" while everyone else talks about going to church with their husband and celebrating family traditions openly to me.
I now have to wonder if the person I'm talking to would think I'm somehow evil if they knew I was Jewish. I naively believed we were so far past that.
I now have to wonder if the person I'm speaking to believes I have no value because a condition I was born with revoked my right to have kids.
