Two Days ago, Uber Eats launched its own version of TikTok to encourage people to learn about new foods and delivery items.
In the overly "Social" world we live in what do you think about people taking pictures and publicizing what they are eating?
While phones were not as readily available when I was a young person, sitting at the dinner table was always considered a family time to talk about our day and be present with those in the room. If you were home, you were expected to eat at the dinner table. I remember the few times when the phone rang at dinner time it was met with “they will call you back after dinner.”
Is this really a bigger glimpse into the idea that we want to be told that we are good enough?
As individuals are we trying to live vicariously through our food, allowing others to tell us how good something looks or that we made a good choice, which internalizes our need for self-value and worth?
Have we lost our minds needing to send pictures of our food to the world?
Does it matter if people know what you are eating and how you feel about it?
Or is this the new reality we live in and it's not a big deal?
I would love to know your thoughts.
