It’s been years since I’ve modeled in a fashion show but last Saturday I modeled for my friend. I remember when I was working at the post office my supervisor asked “you still doing your model thing” I said yes! He proceeded to sarcastically say “if it’s going so good then why are you still here?”

It caught me off guard. I didn’t know how to feel because at the time, I modeled as a hobby and not for financial gain. It was something that kept me happy outside of being at the post office. Even hosting my own runway workshops and fashion shows for kids in the community, which I was very proud of.

Despite those who don’t understand your mission/calling remain true to what makes you happy.

While working at the post office I always made sure to keep my holiday spirit up because it was our most stressful and busiest time of the year!

10 years ago today was my first day as CCA/MailLady in Torrance, CA. I was too excited lol. My first day went well and I didn’t have to run from any dogs. The weather was nice, sun was out, and the route I was training on clean.

I remember being on my 10min break thinking “So this is what I’ll be doing for the rest of my career” After TECHNICALLY being employed for 9yrs but PHYSICALLY serving for 7yrs, I’m glad it was just a thought and not my reality.

Although this job brought out mixed emotions, it was still a blessing. 😇
