24/7 Monitoring and Real-Time Alerts

Our network of weather centers, professional meteorologists, and trained observers keeps a watchful eye on the skies across the nation, 24/7/365. When severe weather threatens, we issue timely advisories and alerts through our social media channels, ensuring our communities are informed and prepared. Boots on the Ground: Storm Chasing and Data Collection

When severe weather strikes, our dedicated chase teams deploy to the affected areas. They witness the "tale tell signs" of severe weather firsthand and provide critical real-time data directly to the National Weather Service. This data plays a vital role in refining weather forecasting models and keeping communities safe. Education is Key: COSWET and HWAP Programs

TORCON believes that education is a powerful tool in weather preparedness. Through our Community Outreach Severe Weather Educational Training (COSWET) program, we offer online and in-person classes to educate communities about severe weather safety. Additionally, the Homeless Weather Alert Program (HWAP) equips homeless individuals with life-saving NOAA weather radios and works with local emergency managers to establish shelters during severe weather events. TORCON: Volunteer-Driven and Committed to Growth

Our ever-expanding team is 100% volunteer-driven, and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for weather safety. We offer a robust training program (STEP) to develop the next generation of storm chasers and weather spotters. In 2024, we even established our own Search and Rescue Team (TSAR) to further support our communities.
