You may be thinking, Hidra–what? Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic skin condition that few have heard of, but it impacts far too many. It causes painful, draining bumps in areas like the armpits, thighs, and other uncomfortable areas—and it’s not about poor hygiene. HS is driven by inflammation, not infection, and it can affect everything from daily life to mental health.

In my latest blog post, I break down what HS is, who it affects, and why early diagnosis matters. If you or someone you know is struggling with painful skin symptoms, you’re not alone. The conversation starts with bringing awareness to this under-recognized condition.

Clinical trials are a critical part of advancing medical science, helping to bring new treatments, medications, and devices to the market. While the idea of being a "guinea pig" can be off-putting for patients, clinical trials prioritize patient safety and provide an opportunity to access cutting-edge therapies, especially for conditions that haven't responded to existing treatments. With each trial reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), participants are fully informed of the risks and benefits before making any decisions.
