Happy anniversary Porters Coffee House and Bakery!!

This time 5 years ago, we were leaving the shop the night before opening after writing “now open” on our windows with shoe polish. Scared to death, after quitting my full time “stable” teaching job to follow my passion. A sweet passion that had me working full time on top of my full time for 14 years before we made the leap! And my husband doing the same to make up the difference we needed. Investing every penny we had, every bit of my retirement, risking it all in hopes people would come. Long sleepless nights, hours of blood, sweat and tears by me and those closest to me. Missing games, family occasion, birthdays, working holidays, and being late to pretty much everything that was for those I care most about…Always making them second. Owning a business is not for the faint of heart, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies, it’s literally 24/7 wearing many hats, but it’s certainly not for those who like weekends or days off for that matter. But man, the ride!! We will celebrate the milestones, every single one of them. Some out loud and some to ourselves. Because while maybe it’s not for everyone, we sure love what we do…Every sweet and caffeinated moment of it!! THANK YOU for growing us. For helping us to employ 30 great staff members who love their jobs, serving you and the community. For helping us belong and give us purpose. For helping us to donate to area teams, schools and community needs. For letting us start your day strong and end it sweet. And mostly for making our dream that started as farmers markets in our home based kitchen, grow in to what it is today. Today we celebrate being a “brick and mortar” at our 194 west church street location for 5 years!!
Porters Coffee House and Bakery !! 💛 🥳

(Ps, every order today $10 or more receives a free celebration chocolate chip cookie at our church street location!!)
(And For those newbies to our page, stay tuned. I’ll explain the logo again soon, it’s a month for reminiscing ☺️)
