Converting film from the 70’s! This is pretty awesome being able to see my great-grandparents! I’m stunned at how well these play back, even if they are just a few minutes.

Glad I can now offer up this service as well as digitizing VHS, VHS-C and DVD!

Did a little editing last night. Scribner-Snyder friends and fans during the mid-2000's should remember this one.

This was arguably my favorite sports moment in HS as a fan. I was a freshman in the stands and the roof blew off the place after the final play. Watch the last play here.

This was a district final to go to state in 2005. This is an example of why I love digitizing past games. Without Jo Hoge finding this tape and getting it to me in 2020, this memory would be lost.

I have built my entire YouTube channel with past Nebraska high school football and basketball games. Over 700 uploads to my YouTube channel which you can view at the link below.

So how did I get on this journey? When working for KNPL-TV in North Platte, I was fascinated with old footage in the 1011 archives. Especially the past sports highlights. You will see a lot of past high school sporting events on this page.

I wanted to find a way to save my past memories. I knew my parents recorded A LOT of footage when my brother and I were kids. I can still remember the "big camera" that we borrowed from my Grandparents and having it set up at home. It was an OTS (over the shoulder) camera.

In the summer of 2013 I drove back to Fremont and got the two totes of VHS tapes, bought the software and went to work. That year for Christmas, I gave my family DVDs of the home movies. Everybody was so appreciative and loved being able to see my great-grandparents on camera again and hearing their voices.

Here is an example of one short clip I digitized 11 years ago from a VHS tape. It's my brothers first day of 1st grade and my first day of preschool from August of 1993. It's four minutes, but it's a real cool memory of the farmhouse we grew up in south of Scribner.

Dahl Digital is a brand I started a few years ago and I want to take it to the next step.

What do I do? I save your memories. If you have home movies, weddings, or past sporting events on VHS tapes or mini VHS tapes in boxes at your house or your parents house, I can save those memories to a digital format.

How do I do this? I have software that runs a VHS through a program that converts the film to a digital MP4 file that you can upload to a USB, Google Drive, YouTube, or your phone. Think about being able to share your parents' wedding with them again, but being able to pull it up on your television instead of running a tape in a VCR that probably doesn't work anymore.

Why do I do this? Memories are important. Life events captured through film should be cherished forever, not just for six months and tossed in a box. That film sitting in a box at your parents house will go bad eventually.

What do I charge? I charge $10 per hour of film. If a tape has less than a half hour of film, it's only $5. You pay for the conversion cost and the cost of the USB. Being able to hear a grandparent's voice again who passed for only $20 is worth it.

Consider reaching out to me through a direct message or email. Please pass this page along to family and friends.
