It's Fur Friday and we're time traveling back to February 1975. Premium raccoon pelts were bringing $22.50 – that's $130 in today's cash. Wow. Also, this issue featured an ad for a product whose time has yet to come: the versatile and fashionable Shooting Mitten! Like the Seinfeld gardening sombrero, perhaps? We'll keep on looking back as part of our 100th anniversary in the outdoors. So proud to still be here, publishing a print magazine every single month of the year. And so thankful to all of you for getting us here.

100 years in publishing... you can't expect there not to be some awkward middle school years. As evidenced here with our 1956 December cover. Not sure what we were thinking with this logo and cover design. Just glad we dropped it and returned to our original logo. In this issue you'll find a full page ad from Sears explaining why you should ship your furs to them. And these two ads, one for Arnold's Buck Lure, and the other from Eddie Bauer. Wonder whatever happened to Eddie Bauer? Faded into obscurity, we guess. Anyhow, happy Fur Friday! We can't let this day pass without expressing big thanks to all of you for reading the magazine. A.R. Harding started this magazine 100 years ago. To this day we remain a small, family-owned business. It gets more challenging every year, with skyrocketing costs. But the fact that we are still here, dropping a printed magazine every single month of the year, celebrating our 100th year, is a testament to you. Each and every one of you help keep FUR-FISH-GAME in print. Without you, there's no Team Fur.

Christmas Shipping: We are a small company, with just a tiny handful of employees processing orders. That means we aren't the fastest shippers in the world. Combine this with the post office's recent (or not-so-recent) slowdowns and you get a slow, rather unpredictable result. But we understand people want stuff by Christmas. If you are ordering books, doing so by 12/6/24 should get them to you before Christmas. They'll likely be there much earlier. But stick to this date just in case. For other merchandise like hats or t-shirts, ordering by 12/11/24 should get you your products in time for Christmas. These are only estimates. Not guarantees. We appreciate your understanding.

On this fine Fur Friday, as we finish up our first issue of 2025 (yeah, we need to work that far in advance), we're thinking about our 100th anniversary. Today we harken back to 1932. We know a few of you were around then. For the rest of us it's a special treat. This issue included an editorial which made one of those evergreen statements that applies today: "During periods when the prices of fur are low, the trapper can help much by marketing only prime pelts and by taking the best possible care of their furs. Quantities of unprime, grease-burned, poorly shaped skins dumped on an already weak market hurts the entire fur and trapping industry... make a little less effort on the trapline and a little more effort caring for furs..."

Also, this ad for The Arcady, a 12-story hotel in Los Angeles, CA surprised even us. Maybe the NTA should plan their next convention in LA? We won't hold our breath.
