Why does the power always go out in Shadowcreek!? We have had at least 4 power outages in the past couple of months. None of them due to bad weather either. Why? Someone please explain. I have never had this issue living anywhere else in Columbus.
**Elevator Safety? Not at the BCSC Admin Building!**
Did you know that the BCSC Admin Building has been operating with an expired elevator inspection for almost two years? According to **Indiana Code 680 IAC 2-3-2**, elevators must undergo regular inspections to ensure they meet safety standards. If the certificate is expired, it’s a violation of state regulations and, more importantly, a potential safety hazard.
It’s pretty concerning the very people managing our schools can’t seem to keep their own building’s elevators up to code. Maybe it’s time for them to hit the *up* button on their priorities and get this fixed!

Reading an article in the paper with the piling on of Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery. Made me curious what other presidents have visited there and had their pictures taken. Then I found this gem. Making a profit off dead soldiers. But no one would ever talk about that. Please read, please. Speaking on behalf of myself and many wonderful coworkers, I have been chosen to send this message to parents, stakeholders (taxpayers), and benefactors of BCSC.
This message has been shortened from the original version that we sent to The Republic newspaper, which refused to publish our story.
We are amongst the majority of employees. Employees that are not contributors to union dues, not eligible for union (CEA) representation, not teacher union (CEA) members, nor supporters of the agendas of the previous or the current (same people except for 2) school administrations.
BCSC has completely lost its focus on education and staff. BCSC has become obsessed with Diversity Equity and Inclusion to the point that it is dangerous for us as employees in the classroom, buildings, and buses.
142 recordable teacher injuries due to students last reporting period. DEI has allowed for many new teachers who push social and political ideology on students and coworkers.
This is not what we expected when we chose to become educators, or employees at BCSC. 70% of our communication with administrators has nothing at all to do with education. Last year during a professional development day, the administration brought in a speaker to push an ideological and agenda based message.
That is when we started reaching out to individuals at The Republic. Administrators don't even care about education, that is clear.
A lot of it has to do with encouraging us to support their agendas, fall in line, support what the CEA says, and being very careful when communicating with the general public and parents. It is apparent that the focus on increasing testing and reportable statistics to raise what is on record for our corporation.
This makes individual students struggle and fall through the cracks. A good portion of classroom time is a huge distraction to the majority of our students due to the demanding needs of certain students.
This is not conducive to the learning environment, and is repeatedly dangerous for us and students alike. The administration completely ignores it. DEI, Social Emotional Learning, technology, and facilities dominate this corporation... not education.
Thankfully some engaged parents fill in the voids left by inadequate classroom learning environments and experiences. It is not us, it is the administration, a board that continually relinquishes control to the administration, and an agenda based union (CEA).
The union does nothing for teachers and pushes the administrations agendas. Teachers' raises and safety were supposed to be the reason for the referendum, yet almost half of that money went/is going to items other than raises and safety. We desperately need accountability, change, and help, please!

For 20 plus years at the Hot Rods and Rock n Roll, it's always Rick K and the All Knighters??? Can't we get someone else? It's getting boring they do the same show every year. We, as Columbus residents, deserve a new show. I just want to see someone else, I'm not saying their not good, just boring. I quit going to the music show, now I just go for all the beautiful cars, trucks, and motorcycles, for me it would be more fun to see a show from someone other RK&TAK Thanks for letting me get this out, I'm not sure if anyone else has made a post like this.
Allied Securities, the brave souls responsible for keeping things safe at Cummins, decided to test everyone’s patience today by running a red light—right after a green arrow appeared!
Green arrow means go, right?
You have to wonder though, if they’re getting confused by basic traffic lights, should they really be the ones protecting Cummins? Maybe they need a refresher on red vs. green before heading back out there. Or who knows, maybe they just prefer living life dangerously… at a red light!

The overpass in Columbus, Indiana is not only buckling, but it’s also leaking sand, which signals a critical issue with the retention wall. This erosion weakens the wall’s integrity, increasing the risk of collapse or further buckling.

Immediate repair is essential to prevent further erosion, restore the strength of the wall, and ensure the safety of both the overpass and its users. Time is of the essence to prevent a larger, more dangerous collapse.
Emergency vehicles on Indiana 11 if you’re traveling into Columbus, expect a small delay. It also appears that across the second street bridge there’s a delay in back up.

Has any other females shopping alone had a young man come up to them at Kroger and ask if they are ‘any name’ and then when you say no he says okay and walks away? Polite. Well dressed -has a quarter zip sweater with small pacer logo? I ask because it’s the second time in a month he has approached me at Kroger and it seems odd?? Different name he asks me each time.
I was at Total Fitness tonight when a nice couple came up and asked if I was using a nearby machine. I told them I wasn’t using it, so they started to set their stuff down. Before they could put their stuff down, one of the gyms personal trainers, Mike, rudely stepped in and claimed that he was still using it, although he had walked away from the cable machine. The young couple apologized, but pointed out that the trainer didn’t need to be rude about it. Mike immediately responded with a hostile tone claiming that he wasn’t being rude, ironically being rude. This caused a scene in the middle of the gym on the main cable machine and made everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. I’m sure the client that was being trained by Mike felt very embarrassed by the situation. I can’t believe that these are the kinds of trainers representing Total Fitness. What an embarrassment. I feel so sorry for that couple that got cussed out by a trainer at the gym tonight because of his roid rage. The last thing that Mike said was “you don’t know rudeness you little childish boy”. Honestly made me cackle in disbelief. Please take this into consideration before scheduling a training session at Total Fitness.
don’t go to Arby’s on national in Cbus. there’s literally only us n one other person and it’s taken 15+ minutes to even talk through the speaker. they also got tweaked out workers🤢 walking around not doing s**t.

To all the ignorant drivers, especially the one in the Gray Honda Accord on 46 west approx 5:15 pm today. The law is slow down “OR” move over for emergency vehicles. The Law is Not cut someone off nearly causing an accident when all you had to do was slow down!

Tragic Accident on US-31: A Life Lost in Silence
On August 3, 2024, Wade Steele, a man experiencing homelessness, was tragically struck and killed while crossing US-31. The details of the accident have been hauntingly quiet, with only a brief mention of a “personal injury accident” in local papers. No obituary, no community acknowledgment of Wade’s passing, and little to no official response from local authorities, leaving many wondering: why wasn’t more said? Why has his death been met with such silence?
Accidents like these should demand attention, not only to understand what went wrong but to ensure accountability and prevent future tragedies. How is it that someone can run a stop light, end a life, and yet so little is said? Meanwhile, when a bicyclist was injured on the same road, the incident was widely reported—what makes this situation different?
Wade’s life mattered. He was a person deserving of dignity, acknowledgment, and, above all, justice. The fact that he was homeless shouldn’t diminish the response to this tragedy. Every life lost on our roads is significant, and every accident should prompt action, questions, and answers from the authorities. Yet, for Wade, there is only silence.
It is known the driver who hit him was a woman. But where is the accountability? How can we, as a society, allow someone to take a life, even accidentally, and seemingly get away without consequence or public scrutiny?
Wade’s death deserves more than a footnote in a police report. His family, friends, and community deserve transparency. Most of all, he deserves to be remembered. This tragic incident should serve as a reminder that everyone’s life has value, regardless of their circumstances. We need to ask more of our officials, demand more empathy from our society, and ensure that every accident involving a loss of life is met with the care and attention it deserves.

PSA - Fall is a couple of weeks away and with that comes harvest. Farmers will be moving large equipment from field to field. More semi tractor trailers will be out on all the state roads and country roads headed to grain elevators. Please slow down and be patient. Slow down when passing from the opposite direction; roads were built for cars and trucks, not large tractors and combines. Don’t cut off semis; they can’t slow down as fast as you can. Leave a few minutes early. Don’t assume you don’t need to slow down and can pass on these 2 lane roads going 60 mph when you can’t see around them. If it’s you vs farm equipment, the equipment will win every time !
I just want to make an anonymous post about a gentleman that works at Dollar general out on State Street he has an Indiana State hoodie on that poor man has gave me a little bit of his life story and I feel for him everyday I come in there he looks so depressed and done with life he's lost both of his parents his brother and it just makes me sad every single time I see him everybody just show him some love.

Earlier today on our way back into town a black male driving a white Nissan Sentra, (plate 333CKG) came fly up behind us on 31 looked like he was about to lose control of his car twice and almost rear ended us 3 times trying to speed around us as we was getting ready to turn down Washington street once we got to the light at Washington and 25th St. he ran the red light and continued speeding and weaving in and out of traffic down Washington I did report to the police department, I ant playing when you’re stupidity compromising my newborn and toddler’s safety I will definitely be looking into getting a rear dash cam now

Post anonymous To the idiot on interstate 65 on the crash rocket about 6:20 passing me and I was doing 80 with his kid on the back but he was doing probably 90 passing me and he had to be doing over 100 then got to the off ramp in Taylorsville and went to the right of a semi on the off ramp not to mention the P gravel that is on the shoulder as he's coming off and around the semi. This man has been spotted on 3 different occasions in the last week at Anderson falls being suspicious and watching over women and their children. He has also been caught taking pictures and invading the privacy and respect of others. A police report was made on 7/30/24 and police made contact with him. He stated he did not live in the area. Police instructed to call them back if he’s spotted out there again.
