MAN O' WAR TRAIL RIBBON CUTTING
WHEN: Tuesday, September 19, 5:30 PM
WHERE: South Hamilton Trailhead, 184 Old College St, Hamilton (next to Spartan of Harris Co Lawnmower, across from Harris County H.S. Science & Technology Center)

Join the Harris County Chamber of Commerce and Explore Harris County, GA to celebrate the completion of Phase VI of the Man O' War Trail. You can even join a 4:30 group bicycle ride from Chipley Cycle in Pine Mountain to the celebration.

The Man O' War Trail is now 13.5 miles long from the Harris/Meriwether county line in Pine Mountain south to Mulberry Creek. It has five trailheads with parking and information kiosks.

The last eight miles of the trail, from Mulberry Creek to near the Columbus/Muscogee county line, are to be constructed 2026/2027 and funded by TSPLOST. Let's work together to connect the Dragonfly Trail Network - Columbus, GA up to the Man O' War Trail!

“I didn’t set out to write one type of piece,” local writer Gaby Osterburg Azhar says of her collection of works just published in “What Isn’t Remembered,” a mix of essay, memoir, fiction and poetry that’s as side-splitting funny as it is soul-bearing sweet.

The city-sponsored bicycle ride may be rescheduled to Feb. 19, but it’s still a go tomorrow on his MILK Outdoor Learning Trail, where volunteers will gather to spruce up the new attraction stretching from Midtown through Carver Heights to the Liberty.

We chatted with the trail’s visionary founder, Ronzell Buckner, ahead of in 2020, when he told us that, indeed, the city’s official MLK Day celebration, The Dream Lives, “has been hijacked” by white people.
