Bank Robbery Offenders Sentenced: On March 7, 2023, the Key Bank at 6961 E. Main St. was the victim of an armed robbery. Joseph Pleasant and Brandon Graham robbed Key Bank while in possession of a .45 caliber gun. The offender's vehicle was located in South Columbus and as officers closed in, the offenders fled on foot into a neighborhood. Two offenders were arrested and were found in possession of the gun and stolen money.

Recently, both offenders were offered plea bargains and will not spend a day in prison. Both were given probation and their fines were waived.

We appreciate the officers who risk their lives each day to arrest and temporarily remove criminals threatening our community.

The theme for our August photo contest is "Fairfield County Landmarks". As always, we will be selecting four finalists who will each receive baked treats of their choice from Sorso Coffee and a grand prize winner who will receive a sandwich and beverage. However, this month's popular vote winner will also receive a free picnic blanket courtesy of Visit Fairfield County Ohio!

"Landmarks" can be anything from the sunflower field currently blooming at Smeck Park, to the operating water wheel at Rock Mill. Maybe you want to photograph one of the county's many covered bridges, water towers or lakes. Perhaps the Victoria Opera House, General Sherman's Home, Pickerington's Carnegie Library or the Tabernacle at Coyote Run. For inspiration, please visit visitfairfieldcounty.com and/or www.fairfieldcountyparks.org.

Please share this with anyone who might want to share their pictures of all the amazing places in our own backyards. (Limit three entries per photographer.) All entries must be submitted by August 28.
