The last page of each Today's Farmer magazine has our closing thought which consists of a poem written specifically about a single photograph. The art is chosen by the magazine's editor, photojournalist, and art director. This task is usually a process everyone looks forward to and saved for the last part of the issue's art meeting. The image is then sent to poet Walter Bargen where he works his magic.
For the second issue in a row, we have some video that goes with the still image from the closing thought, so we made a reel. Special thanks to @TheEvokeGroup for the top-notch video and to the Thompson family for their hospitality.
This month's closing thought had so many wonderful images from photojournalist Jessica Ekern, that we thought we'd do something extra. Check out Missouri Poet Laureate Emeritus Walter Bargen reading his poem here.
