I’m finally getting around to watching this interview on Club Shay Shay and she is shaking the table for real.
During the press run for Precious they were asking her to promote the movie for free. She said no because she wasn’t contractually obligated to do so. After that spread around Hollywood that she was difficult to work with. She said that this cost her tens of millions of dollars.
She said that originally wanted her to play the role of Cookie in Empire, but the studio execs wouldn’t allow it because of the rumors that she was difficult to work with.
She also alleged that was jealous of her when she won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar and that she would call Lee Daniels asking him for roles that he wanted Monique to play.
She said that out of the three of them the only one who ever apologized to her was Lee Daniels, and she also shared that that apology was facilitated by . She said that TS Madison was the only one who stood up for her and she reached out to Lee and told him that he owed her an apology so he got on a public platform and apologized to her and her family.
She also whacked Oprah again because she said that Oprah was a part of her becoming estranged from her family. She said that Oprah called her and told her that her brother wanted to do a show where he apologized for molesting her, and he wanted to tell families how to look out for predators. Monique said that she didn’t want to be on a show with her abuser, but that she can go ahead and do the show because maybe he did change. She said that Oprah never told her that her mother, father, and her other brother who was her former manager would also be on the show supporting her abuser.
She said that called her and said that the family called her trying to do the same interview with her, but she said that she couldn’t do that to Monique especially so soon after she just won her Oscar and she was having such a big moment.
She said that Oprah and Tyler Perry never apologized. She also said that she has Tyler Perry on tape admitting to doing her wrong. That recording is in the comments.
