Black Women in Arts & Entertainment 🎭🎶📚

This week, we’re celebrating Black women who revolutionized the arts—on stage, on screen, in music, and in literature. Their talent, resilience, and creativity have paved the way for future generations.

📅 Day 8 – Josephine Baker: The Iconic Entertainer & Activist

🎭 Before , before —there was Josephine Baker. She was more than an entertainer; she was an activist, a spy during WWII, and a civil rights pioneer.

🔥 Did you know? She refused to perform in segregated venues and even turned down an invitation to be the first Black woman in the Rockette’s lineup because they weren’t integrated.

To realize our dreams, we must decide to wake up: This quote is a reminder that we must choose to see the world as it is, and not just accept it.
-Josephine Baker
